So I’ve been in my new apartment for less than 24 hours and obviously I’m pretty bored already! I’ve subleased a 1 BR/1BA apartment for the summer, and I’m looking forward to the peace and quiet that I’m going to need to study for the full load of courses I’m taking on. Interim starts Monday and I am SO EXCITED (not really). I’m really curious to see how a whole semester of World Lit is condensed into a three week course, so I’ll be updating on how that turns out! I foresee a LOT of reading throughout the next few weeks.
This is my first summer in T-town, and I’m pretty pumped about it. It’s going to be pretty weird getting used to living by myself since I lived with 22 other girls this past year, but I’ll be back to the sorority house in the fall. I might as well just enjoy this time to chill out a little bit. Class in the morning, read/relax at the pool all afternoon. EVERY day. Not a bad deal to me. 🙂 A lot of my friends will be here with me, but today was pretty rough saying goodbye to some of my closest friends. Thank you Amy Skridulis for leaving me to go to camp until August! Hannah’s running off to China in July, and everybody else seems to be all over working and such. I’m already anxious for the fall.
Jamie comes home in 13 days, but who’s really counting? I got back on Monday night from a long weekend with his parents (who are the bomb.com) in New York, and we all had a really great time. I was kicking and screaming on the inside as we left. If you can’t tell by now, I’m REALLY not a fan of goodbyes. I think both of us will be back and forth from Tuscaloosa to Hoover (his hometown) this summer until he leaves on June 17th, and I am thrilled to spend a good amount of summertime with him! I’m running my first 10K with him on Memorial Day in Huntsville. I’ll also be updating on how that one goes! It should be pretty interesting! I’ve really gotten into running this semester and have wanted to start running some races for fun, so I’m pretty anxious for that.
I’m done. Long enough. Get me talking and I just can’t shut up! I suppose I’ll add to this periodically if I think about it!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
