It’s Monday, and I am excited! I have always normally absolutely loathed Mondays, but certainly not this semester because Monday equals The Bachelor, which equals two hours of me & ten friends sitting in front of the TV squealing in shock over Jason & his traveling lips or the ridiculous antics all his little girlfriends seem to pull off every week. My mom (who is also pretty obsessed – I miss watching it with her) called me yesterday and told me she looked up Bachelor “spoilers” online and wanted to know if I was interested in knowing what she found. She was NOT surprised when I told her I’d already spoiled the season for myself. Like mother, like daughter. She did, however, find some stuff I hadn’t found. We sat on the phone and discussed this for PROBABLY a solid 20 minutes. Good times.
My grandmother’s wedding was last weekend, and I am still just smiling from ear to ear about it. In a nutshell, it went better and was more fun than I could have ever imagined a wedding for my 69 year old grandmother and her 81 year old fiancé would be! Jamie flew into Birmingham Friday night and drove up to Madison on Saturday (Valentine’s Day). JW (my grandma’s new husband) asked Jamie and Josh to wear their uniforms to the wedding and they looked SO handsome. A little over 100 people were in attendance, and everyone enjoyed the live band and visiting together. Jamie and I drove back to his house in Hoover that night and enjoyed a late Mexican dinner out with his mom. It was fun and a nice way to wind down. Everything seemed perfect in my little bubble of a world on Saturday. I mean, it’s not every day your GRANDMOTHER gets married. Pretty cute. Jamie and I also celebrated our one year anniversary last Sunday! I love cloud nine weekends.
Hannah and I have been lap swimming at the rec pool the last four days in a row. I am obsessed with swimming right now; it is so much fun! I thought I was going to take today off, but I think I’m going to make some time after my class later. I bought us the most attractive goggles ever at Walmart yesterday, so now it’s even more fun! We look like COMPLETE nerds who don’t know how to swim right, but we both feel great and that’s all that matters right now. Just a side note, we were driving home and found the final piece of scoreboard being taken down. So sad. Here it is.
I am dying for beach time. Only 18 more days.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
