I feel like this blog, one that I carelessly registered for over two years ago, is going to be a huge compilation of some of the biggest events in my life.
I’m thinking I’m really going to enjoy the rest of my 20’s, as nerdy as that sounds! There are SO MANY exciting/dramatic/drastic/overwhelming/fabulous changes that will take place, from first jobs, becoming fully independent, visiting friends all over, getting married, having kids (maybe…!), etc. It seems that every time I log on facebook I want to jump up and down over someone else’s big news.
I am currently relaxing on my couch watching Juno on Lifetime and feeling very content after a so far successful weekend. Lauren Daniel invited me to join her, Amira, and Jennifer V. for a little girls night last night, and we had a great time! It was so much catching up and spending the night out on the town after a crazy two weeks of work, and it reminded me of how much people need friendships to recharge your batteries when life gets busy!
This morning I slept in until 10:30 (I NEVER DO THAT!), and then I headed to Ashley’s grandfather’s funeral with my mom. It was a beautiful service and my mom and I were both very glad to be there in support of the Martins. They are one of my favorite families in the world – after my own of course. 🙂
Since we were already down in the Huntsville area, we decided to swing by Modern Bride to look at some dresses. The only part of wedding planning I’ve ever dreamt about was finding my dress, and I have wanted to wait until the spring, but I couldn’t wait anymore! My mom and I had a blast. We had the best lady helping us and I tried on some really beautiful dresses. After trying on seven, I had three that I liked equally, and I was starting to get a little nervous that I may not find the all around just PERFECT dress. I went into it open-minded with nothing particular in mind and was feeling that I my indecisiveness was going to hurt me big time.
I had one more dress to try on, and literally before I had it zipped I was freaking out! I’m just in love with it and there’s not much more I can say! I’m so excited and so darn blessed to have such a wonderful mom who is loving the wedding planning thing.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
