favorite things

I used to be a huge Oprah fan. HUGE. I was actually a video guest on the show when I was a senior in high school. She used to have her “Oprah’s Favorite Things” show about once a season, and I always made sure to watch that episode because I loved all her occassionally bizarre findings.

I’m no Oprah, but I have my own list of favorite things this week. 🙂

#1: LUSH bath bombs
http://www.lushusa.com/shop/products/bath/bath-bombs/
I discovered LUSH cosmetics while walking around Philadelphia with Jamie and his parents. Tonya (his mom) and I wandered into this store and stayed for WELL over an hour playing with all of their products. I found this store again in New York City with my mom, where we stayed and played again for a while. I found this store one more time this past weekend while walking around Mandalay Bay hotel in Vegas. I bought myself a bath bomb and just used it an hour ago after a cardio workout. I feel fantastic and smell even better. Plus, what girl doesn’t feel good about bathing in PINK delicious-smelling water?! Seriously. Next time I find one of these store I will buy 10. They are THAT fantastic.
#2 White House Black Market Denim Leggings
Yeah, right. My booty in jeggings?! THAT’S a joke. 🙂
These were my thoughts just over a month ago when the idea of jeggings got really popular. This all changed when I went to Gulf Shores with Mary E a few weeks ago. Her mom had purchased her a pair earlier in the week and they looked ridiculously cute on her. I knew I had to try a pair on JUST to eliminate the idea of getting a pair. As soon as a put them on I was in love. They look exactly like jeans, work SO WELL with boots, and are absolutely as comfortable as sweats. I could live in them (and kind of have!). I have only put on another pair of jeans twice in a month. They run around $60. Get some. NOW. 🙂 You won’t regret it!
#3 Texas Tea slot machine
This “favorite thing” by NO means promotes gambling; it just describes some of my beginner’s luck. Of course I loved it! Just for fun though. Just for fun.

I have never been a gambler. I have been in a casino once in my life when I went on a cruise with Ashley Martin when we were 18. I did not go to Vegas to gamble. I brought a little bit of money to play with just for fun but never had any real intentions of gambling. I was feeling spunky as we were walking around the New York New York hotel on Friday and decided to put in $10. 10 minutes later I had won $40! I continued to play every so often the next couple days. I only played two other machines and was so mad I played them after I lost. I kept winning on Texas Tea and had so much fun playing it! When we checked out the hotel I had about 2.5 times the gambling money I brought. Of course I’m too stubborn to take it all home. One stop at the Michael Kors store and 75% of my money is gone. I did come home with my dream watch though. 🙂

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
