Favorite wedding moments!

It is WAY too cold to get out of the house and do ANYTHING, so I believe it’s a good time to blog! We’ve been married just over three weeks, and every day I wish that I could do the entire wedding weekend all over again. I know that may sound incredibly pathetic, but it was so much fun! At the end of my “mishaps” post I mentioned doing a future post about my favorite wedding memories, and well, here it is! Those of you who were at the wedding will enjoy this post a whole lot more!

Favorite/most memorable moments in the order that they happened:

1.) Kicking off the weekend Thursday night with some of my bridesmaids, groomsmen, my parents, and Jamie’s parents in the beach house’s game room/basement
Juke box + excitement + pool table + wine/beer = One really, really fun wedding kick-off! No body left the house or went to bed until at least 1 or 2 a.m.

2.) My super casual and comfortable bridesmaids breakfast
Everybody just rolled out of bed, admired the GORGEOUS sunny beach, and sat down to a big breakfast of fresh fruit and my mom’s great breakfast casserole. It was really nice to not have a schedule like a lot of people do before the wedding. I’ve always heard that the days before the wedding are madness, but it wasn’t for us at all. Everyone that was a part of the wedding (officiant, photography, bridesmaids, and my family) were all staying in one house, and that made everything so relaxed! No body had other plans, work, etc. Jamie also arrived in Destin early Friday morning, so he stopped by the house on the way to his parent’s house. As soon as he got there I just hugged him for a solid two minutes. I was so excited that he made it safely and was about to be my husband (finally!).
3.) Giving my parents their scrapbook and my bridesmaids their gifts
My parents loved it and were so proud of it (they showed it to everyone at the wedding), and I think my girls liked their gifts. They did SO much for me throughout the six weeks of planning, and I wanted them to have great gifts! It was such a sweet times and hugs and i love yous.

4.) All eight bridesmaids + me hanging out on one king-sized bed talking til 12:30 in the morning, primarily about Hannah and her experiences with whales and their sexuality… 🙂
HILARIOUS! I eventually kicked everybody out and said GOOD NIGHT because this little girl needed her sleep for a little something called her wedding day… 🙂
(missing Ashley and Amberlee in this picture)
5.) Getting my hair and makeup done with my mom, sister, aunt, and mother-in-law.
It was fun and everybody was starting to look so beautiful!

6.) Sweet prayer time with my bridesmaids 20 minutes prior to the ceremony.
7.) Peaking over the balcony and seeing all of my guests seated on the beach for MY wedding.
Now THAT was surreal!

8.) Taking sunset pictures – WHAT a dream.

9.) The bridal party’s crazy entrances to “Dynamite”.
It really kicked off a fun night and gave the wedding a upbeat and fun tone.
10.) Our first dance and feeling like we were all by ourselves and dancing to a song that we had dubbed “ours” since our first month of dating.
11.) Smashing cake in Jamie’s face.
I didn’t plan to, but it just happened. 🙂

12. My sister and Bren’s VERY heartfelt speeches.
13. Being lifted up onto a chair by the groomsmen and laughing until I couldn’t breathe!

14. Watching my amazing, crazy, hysterical grandmother “strip” all of the guys of their jackets and sweaters!
She was out of control, but everybody loves her!

15. Watching my Aunt Mickey do a “clog” dance with my brother in front of everybody at the wedding!
She’s probably almost 80! SO FUNNY!

16. My friends insisted that they do the AOII song.
It was so neat to look around and see 20 of my closest friends from the sorority surrounding us and realizing that they made the trip just for Jamie and me. I have really, really incredible friends.
17. Jamie using his TEETH to get my garter off.
Mortifying, but memorable!

18. Watching my parents faces when the DJ announced my dedication to them – Their own dance to their wedding first dance, “Endless Love”.
They were so happy and having so much fun, and that just put the icing on the cake for them.
19. My dance with my dad and Jamie’s dance with his mom as she bawled! 🙂

20.) Hopping into the Escalade and waving GOODBYE after a five-hour reception!
We were off to our amazing suite and a great weekend!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST –
THE BEST 20 MINUTES OF MY ENTIRE LIFE!
Better than any reception or anything other feeling in the world.

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
