Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
Teddy and Jamie’s reunion – December 11
Anyone who has met my dog probably thinks he’s insane because he’s got ISSUES. Ted’s got a slight “grumbling” issue, and he really has no use for people he doesn’t know. He’s a rescue dog who was found on the side of the road a couple years ago, and it took him until April 2011, when we adopted him, for him to find his forever home. Teddy has total trust with me and my parents (he’s a total snuggle bug – he’s asleep with his head and paws on my left leg right now) because that’s who he’s spent the most time with, but if anyone else tries to pet him he’ll grumble at you 90% of the time.
We weren’t sure how Teddy would respond to Jamie after eight months apart. Everyone says that dogs remember smell, so we were banking on that! Teddy’s reaction to Jamie was classic Ted – run out there, hear my voice and turn around, slowly inch back over, and then totally remember that it was him. There is absolutely NO WAY he would EVER jump in ANYONE’S lap unless it was me or my parents, so we are positive that Teddy remembered their two weeks together back in April.
I could watch this over and over and over again. Our house is so quiet without you, Jamie!
We can’t wait for February.
you know you like my shoes.
