February has been so great, but such a blur! We’ve tried to be intentional about “living up” our last full month here in TN, but this upcoming move to Arizona has also been keeping us busy busy busy!
We started the month with a birthday dinner for one of my great friends, Jessica.
We also got to see our group again the next night at Hannah and Jon’s annual Super Bowl party. We seriously never tire of spending time with these friends. They’re good ones!
We researched and found a fantastic property manager for our home, and working with him has been a breeze! We were not pumped about renting out our house (would much rather sell), but we feel much better about dabbling with the whole renting thing after meeting and working with Larry. Added bonus – the first family to look at our house decided to rent it! Talk about a load off of our backs immediately.
I had a skin biopsy on a couple spots on my stomach, and I’m pretty sure the results came back negative for cancer (said they’ll discuss my results at the follow-up appointment on Monday. Okay…). I’m the first to admit that I have not taken care of my skin by protecting it from the sun the last 10 years or so, so I’m always alarmed when I see new spots. Wanna stay on top of potential cancerous spots.
My parents spontaneously drove the three hours north to our house on a random Thursday to visit us and take us to dinner! If we’re being honest though, it was really just to see Hadley. Jamie and I have totally taken a back seat. 😉
After several attempts at planning a trip to Indianapolis, we finally made it up there to visit Jamie’s relatives! His cousin Michael and his wife Meagan had ADORABLE twins last year, so we had a ball introducing the babies to each other and swapping parenting stories. It was so great to see all of them as usual.
One of this month’s top highlights was visiting my sister in Kansas! We seriously had SO much fun. From morning workouts, to walks around the neighborhood, window shopping in downtown, cooking dinner, meeting all of her friends, getting pulled over by a cop on a bike (!!!!), it was a trip full of non-stop laughter. Hadley also did great with her first flying experience. Another weekend with Jennifer sounds good right about now! It’s tough not knowing when we’ll see her and Josh again.
Hadley had lots of fun making and sending Valentines to her aunt, uncles, grandparents, and great-grandparents. She delivered lots of smiles. 🙂
Jamie sweet-talked the American Airlines check-in counter lady and surprised Hadley and me at the gate at the Nashville airport with a rose and all dressed up in a suit, just because. I was so surprised when I came strolling off the plane and saw him standing there! He had the sweetest cards for Hadley and me and some of my favorite treats in the car. He’s the best!
My little brother ran his first marathon and came in 5th in his age group with a time of 3h 18m! Such a rockstar.
Jamie and I enjoyed a Saturday night in Nashville and had a great time. Jamie made reservations at Margaritaville, which is right across the street from the arena where we saw Brad Paisley in concert. This was my second time seeing him, and he was even better this time around. Jessica and Nick were SO awesome to watch Hadley!
I’ve continued to try and get a workout in most mornings! It feels so good to finally be back in my pre-pregnancy clothes and have a bigger wardrobe to choose from. I’ve always hated home workout DVDs, but I’m really enjoying CU24 Level Two. I can’t wait to start running more too. This freezing weather is killing me!
I’ve been selling stuff on Craigslist right and left! Just trying to earn my keep as a stay-at-home mama. 😉 I’ve listed 18 things in the last week and sold most of them! Anything that we don’t want to take to AZ has got to go!
Hadley turned three months old and is growing like a weed. I couldn’t begin to write about all of the new things she’s doing. She has personality spilling out everywhere.
Finally, we are spending tonight and tomorrow morning getting ready for both sets of parents and Jamie’s grandmother to come tomorrow afternoon for Hadley’s baby dedication at church on Sunday. We are looking forward to a fun weekend with our families. 🙂
I am E X H A U S T E D already thinking about March and all of the adventures it’s going to bring! Feeling thankful though for all of the “life” that’s kept us and will be keeping us busy! Never a dull moment for the DeSpains, and that’s just the way we like it.
Enjoy your weekend!
Erica
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
