Happy Friday!
It’s 3 p.m., and it looks like we won’t be finding out today where our next post is going to be. I had really high hopes that today would be the day, but I guess we have a few more days (at least) to wait.
By the way – like the new blog banner up there at the top of the page? I’m working hard to make this silly site more attractive and user-friendly on my own rather than splurge and spend $500+ for a web designer to do it for me. I didn’t pay a whole lot of attention in my HTML classes in college and am kicking myself for it now! Bear with me as I continue to play around and slowly make improvements.
Mom and I enjoyed a lazy morning hanging around the house. We made a couple of egg sandwiches and watched Good Morning America before getting ready for the day.
We drove up to post to give Jamie his lunch that he left in the fridge, and of course he loved that because he wanted to show off Hadley. I have definitely taken a backseat to that little girl! Forget showing off his wife anymore; now it’s ALL about the babe (and I don’t mind a bit).
After he showed us around his classroom and introduced us to some of his classmates, we three Olsen/DeSpain girls made the 30 minute drive to Bisbee for lunch.
Jamie and I had been to this cute little café and store once before when we first moved here, and I couldn’t wait to bring mom.
I enjoyed a great salad while also sneaking a couple bites of mom’s sandwich. We split a piece of chocolate cake and could barely finish it. We are still stuffed!
After lunch I strapped Hadley into the ergo baby carrier and we did some walking for a while (maybe burning off a bite or two of cake – wishful thinking). We toured an old historic hotel and browsed a couple antique shops. Bisbee is pretty tiny, so we pretty much walked the whole “downtown” area in an hour. We got hot fairly quickly (it’s near 100 here today), so we headed home to relax for the day.
After being on vacation last weekend, I think the upcoming weekend is going to be extremely low-key. Spending time at the pool, grilling out, and going to church are about the only plans on our agenda.
Hope you have a good one!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
