Hello again from Madison and HAPPY WEDDING WEEK to my beautiful friend Amy!
We kick off her wedding festivities Friday morning in Chattanooga, and I cannot wait for all the fun to begin and to see her as a bride on Saturday.
Many many many of my very best memories include Amy, and I cannot imagine my life without her friendship. Everyone needs a friend like her.
I also want to give a big wedding shout out to Jamie’s fabulous cousin Scott and his sweet fiancé Holly! More than anything I wish that I could be in two places at once this weekend. I’m sure it’s going to be quite the party up there in Indiana!
The past few days have been kind of wild around here! To make a long story short, we put an offer in on a house in Kansas that we fell in love with, but the offer was countered back with a completely ridiculous counter that slammed the door shut on that particular house. We’ve decided that we’re only going to buy a home in Kansas if it has all of our must-haves, and unfortunately this house definitely did. Kind of stinks that it didn’t work out!
Here’s a timeline of our home search so far –
6/14 – Assigned a realtor through USAA Movers Advantage Program
6/16 – Applied for and were pre-approved for a loan
6/19 1 p.m. – Found “perfect” home online within the first hour of its listing
6/19 4 p.m. – Jennifer and Josh met with our realtor to view house while I was on facetime
6/20 – Discussed potential contract with agent
6/21 – Jamie and I electronically signed Buyer Agency Contract
6/22 11:30 a.m. – Reviewed and signed offer at 97.5% of listing price
6/22 7:45 p.m. – Received word of declined offer
We’re back on the hunt for a great rental or a great home to own, and I’m prayerful that our diligent search will pay off in time for our arrival in Manhattan September 1st.
Jennifer and Josh have seriously been incredible throughout the last few weeks as we’ve started the moving process. I’ve already asked them to look at two houses for us, and they dropped everything and did it immediately. I’m very grateful for you two.
On a happy note, my mom and I walked around the outdoor shopping center Bridgestreet today, and this little $8 purchase from Anthropologie made my day!
I have the worst habit of taking off my rings near the kitchen sink, so I’ve been on the hunt for a cute ring holder. As soon as my mom pointed out this one, I scooped it up. It’ll make a nice home base for my rings once I get back to Arizona. I was also tickled pink when I found these adorable 12-18mo BabyGap Pull-On Skinny Jeans for 60% off. Buying for and dressing up a baby girl really is as fun as I always imagined it would be.
Last but certainly not least, I want to wish a very, very happy birthday to one of my absolute favorite guys – my handsome cousin Scott! Ladies, is he a stud or what?! I hope you have a fun day, Scott! Happy birthday.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
