How Cloud Pets Are Helping Us Bridge the Distance with Family

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.  I genuinely LOVE this product and am really excited to share it with you! Big thanks for your support regarding sponsored posts! #CloudPetsForever #CollectiveBias

For the foreseeable future we’re sticking out this Army thing for the long haul, and as long as Jamie’s serving in the Army we’re going to be long distance from our family and friends. Though I could name a long list of reasons why we feel so super lucky to receive the perks this lifestyle brings, many of them are often overshadowed by how often we long to spend more time with our families.

We’re very fortunate to have families that travel well, travel often, and extend open arms any time for our visits, but juggling the distance is still challenging for everyone involved.
I’ve mentioned before that we also have some significant time away from Jamie coming up, though I’m still somewhat in denial or disbelief about the whole thing (by now I’ve learned that denial is a great coping mechanism to help me enjoy the time we do share together so that I don’t emotionally come unglued beforehand).
Over time I’ve developed a handful of tricks to pick from when it comes to bridging the distance and staying connected with loved ones, but I’m always, always all ears to new and creative ways to stay in touch and maybe even make the distance fun. Technology is a good thing!
After discovering Cloud Pet I now have one more really fantastic way that Hadley can be involved in communicating with and loving on her daddy, grandparents, aunt, and uncles. I’m so (so so so so) excited about this one!

When I first heard about Cloud Pet I did a little bit of research and then went and scooped one up at Walmart. Hadley lit up like a Christmas tree when I let her pick one out, and a few ladies nearby were all “oohing” and “ahhing” over her excitement and smile.

I love her crossed little legs!

Surprising to exactly zero people, she picked out the Cloud Pet puppy (dogs are definitely having a moment in Hadley’s life right now).

Cloud Pets is a new, one of a kind product that allows children to send and receive messages through their stuffed pet. All family and friends have to do is download the free app, create a quick profile (that takes all of three seconds to set up), and start sending and receiving messages.

For example, when my mom wants to send Hadley a message, she uses her iPhone app to record and send it. It’s then sent to me on my app which I have to approve before sending it over to Hadley’s puppy (great parental controls). Hadley knows that she has a message to listen to when the puppy’s heart starts blinking! Though Hadley isn’t quite two yet, she already knows to press the blue paw to listen to the message! Her little face lights up every time she hears a familiar voice!

When Hadley wants to send a message, all she (we) has to do is press the red paw and record! That message then goes to my phone and I send it on to the recipient who can listen to it from his or her app. Easy peasy! Though of course she needs lots of help right now recording messages, she won’t in the future, and I think it’ll be so fun watching her record messages to her daddy and our family members.
Though there’s nothing quite like face-to-face communication and quality time, I’ve enjoyed the fun that CloudPets™has already helped us have and will continue to help us have as Hadley grows and her surroundings change.

Here are a few very brief “How It Works” videos for reference!
Cloud Pets are available at select Walmart stores; I found mine in the back of the store in the toy section. Available options are a kitty, bear, puppy, bunny, or unicorn.

Note: Cloud Pets require the use of three AA batteries that are not included but can be purchased from a pallet display right near the registers at Walmart.

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
