Good morning and happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! I spent the majority of the weekend making myself comfortable in my parent’s living room recliner doing a ton of online Christmas shopping and relaxing after a week of fun on the road. I’m finally feeling caught up with my holiday to-do list and more ready to just enjoy the rest of the month. 🙂
Today I’m popping in to share a quick 20-week pregnancy update and blab a little bit about where you can find me on social media. 🙂
In case you missed them, here are my last few pregnancy-related posts:
How far along: 20 weeks (I’ll be 21 weeks on Friday)
Weight gain/loss: 8.8 lbs – It’s hard sometimes to watch the scale climb, but I’m committed to weighing myself every morning and keeping tabs on a healthy weight gain. I gained more weight with Hadley than I should have, and trying to get that weight off for months on end was super annoying. I’m trying to avoid some of the mistakes I made last pregnancy. 🙁
Sleep: I’m sleeping great for the most part, especially since Teddy is sleeping in his crate now instead of in bed with me (he’s a huge bed hog!). The last couple of nights I rolled from my stomach to my back and nearly saw stars both times after pulling a muscle in my lower abdomen. I’m guessing this has to do with my stomach stretching.
Cravings: Zero! How boring.
Aversions: None
Best moment of the last few weeks: I’ve been anxious to feel this little girl kick around because I felt Hadley so early (17w 2d). I finally felt a few solids kicks last Tuesday. She’s still more on the quiet side, but I’m hoping her activity picks up soon.
Belly button in or out: In! Hoping I get lucky again and that it stays that way. 🙂
Exercise: Does trying to keep up with a two year old all day count as exercise?! I hope so! Seriously though, my goal is to jog at least one mile twice a week, and I’m hoping to keep up with this as long as I can. We’ll see!
Maternity clothes: I’m still able to wear all of my normal jeans, but buttoning them has quickly gotten uncomfortable and gives me quite a belly! Ha! I am in love with my and have been wearing that with my old jeans frequently. You can also find me in maternity yoga pants and leggings three or four days a week. I bought this recently from a Destination Maternity outlet in Destin and I’m obsessed! I wish I had five more pairs.
Like I mentioned a few days ago, I’m a little startled by how fast this pregnancy is going by! I’m hoping it continues to fly though because I’m not only anxious to meet this baby girl, but I’m anxious for her daddy to get home too!
Social Media Activity
Switching gears a bit, I wanted to chat for a second about where you can find me and keep up with us in the social media world. You may have seen my icons in the upper righthand side of my page, but here’s an explanation of what you’ll find on each page.
Facebook: Facebook is always the first place I advertise a new post. I also occasionally share personal pictures and links to other articles and neat products from around the web. I hope you’ll head over to Facebook and like my page! I like it there and would love for it to be more active!
Instagram: I rarely advertise my posts on Instagram, and though I’m sure that’s a big blogging mistake, I prefer to keep this page personal and share fun videos and pictures of our daily lives. Followers can be sure to see a glimpse of my family, friends, daily outings, and our home. I typically post about 3-5 times a week. 🙂 If Instagram is your thing, click here to head over and follow me!
Twitter: I didn’t get a Twitter until I started taking this blog a bit more seriously last year, and though I love using Twitter to “talk” with other people I follow (bloggers, friends, and occasionally even a celebrity), but I’m still trying to figure out why Twitter is #1 to so many people. The character limit drives me a little bonkers! I’m trying my best to be a bit more active there, so come on over and tweet me. 🙂
Pinterest: I love Pinterest! I go there mostly to find specific things, but sometimes it’s fun to just mindlessly scroll and pin. I have a ton of boards for everything and anything. I’d love for you to come follow me!
Snapchat: One of my girlfriends got me SO HOOKED on Snapchat! It took me months just to download the app (I thought it had such a bad reputation), but once I figured it out, I became hooked too! I use it every single day to send Jamie snaps of what Hadley and I are up to, and though he was hesitant about Snapchat at first, he’ll admit now that he LOVES it for keeping up with us. I post many of the videos I send to him to “MyStory”, so please come add me. 🙂 Right now Facebook and Snapchat are my absolute favorite social media platforms. @WhimsicalSept (EricaDeSpain)
Periscope: Though Periscope is a genius idea, I really have nothing to “scope” about. I’m still registered there though, so if Periscope is your thang, feel free to find me here. I pop up there every now and then! @WhimsicalSeptember
Let’s chat!
What’s your favorite social media platform? Least favorite?
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
