Now that I’m in my late 20s I’m starting to pay better attention to my skin after many years of sub-par care (read: too many facial sunburns, not consistently washing my face at night, etc).
Finding and sticking to a specific skin care routine became absolutely necessary recently after battling with troubled skin throughout a substantial part of my pregnancy. I know that unwanted skin care issues is a common negative side effect of pregnancy, but since I fortunately didn’t notice a change in my skin while pregnant with Hadley, I hoped I wouldn’t with Sadie either. I didn’t get so lucky, and I realized a couple months ago that I needed to seek out a skin care plan that would correct previous issues and leave me with skin that I feel confident in.
With summer coming up, I knew that the amount of makeup I would want to wear on a daily basis would be very minimal, if any. Ain’t nobody got time to apply a full face of makeup with two little ones, right mamas? 😉 Hand me a tube of waterproof mascara and I’d like to be out the door!
Several weeks ago I started using the “Resist” line of products from Paula’s Choice, which is a collection of anti-aging products that work together to improve the appearance of multiple signs of aging, include sun damage (ding ding). Not all skin care routines are safe for breastfeeding mamas, but this one fit the bill! One of my girlfriends was raving about her Paula’s Choice products during her visit to see Sadie, which made me extra excited to get started and see the results I desired.
Because I’d always been nervous to “splurge” on skin care (in case it didn’t work), this is my first time to consistently use a proven routine of products. After just a few weeks of staying on top of my game and using these products as directed, I’m sold hook, line, and sinker! Hello to a summer in the sun with my kiddos without feeling like I need to throw on much makeup. 🙂
This “Resist” line for normal to dry skin came with eight products, and I use five in the morning and five at night. The entire routine takes me about three minutes from start to finish. It’s wonderful!
I start with a cleanser, then move on to a toner, and then next an exfoliant.
The fourth step is to apply a treatment, and then finally I finish up with a moisturizer.
While on FaceTime the last couple of weeks, I’ve asked Jamie an annoying number of times if he notices how clear my complexion has become. 🙂 I’m totally fishing for compliments from him and he knows it, but he also knows that I’ve been so frustrated on and off again with my skin the last few years.
You guys know I only talk about products on here that I 100% love, and this product line is absolutely one of them! I fully believe that Paula’s Choice skin care products are very underrated and totally worth a shot!

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
