Hadley got a pretty big new toy last week, but I think Jamie and I are loving it even more! We are now the super giddy owners of a big ‘ole trampoline!
A couple of my friends with elementary-age children have trampolines, and after seeing Hadley run around and have a ball on them throughout the last year, I knew I wanted our family to have one. Everybody (and I mean everybody, including Jamie) thought I’d lost my mind when I suggested getting her one for her 3rd birthday (which is next week), but after several conversations, Jamie came around. His parents knew I really wanted her to have one, so with our permission they purchased it online and had it sent to our home as her birthday gift. I was pumped!
It took Jamie a few hours one afternoon to put it together, then all of a sudden he came bouncing in the house with the biggest smile on his face saying he needed a two-year-old girl to come outside immediately. It was ready, and she had no idea it was coming!
She was actually really timid at first and didn’t want to jump (which was a huge bummer to everybody), but she officially transformed into a jumping bean later that night during our second try. We’ve spent nearly every single morning, afternoon, and night on the trampoline ever since.
We got a full-sized one because we wanted this to be something the entire family could enjoy together, and boy have we. I can’t imagine how we all grew up with trampolines without nets though because this one is an absolute life-saver. It has a zipper that we’re already in the habit of shutting every time we’re jumping. Jamie and I just do “baby jumps” when we’re on it with Hadley because she’s still so petite (29 pounds), but we can’t get enough of chasing her around and making her laugh. I’m pretty sure our entire street knows when we’re outside jumping because Hadley’s laughs are deep and loud! Favorite sound in the whole world.
, and the placement of the net keeps little legs from falling through the springs. The vertical metal bars are covered in black foam rubber, something that sets this trampoline apart from some of the others for sale. Hadley’s safety is our number one priority of course, but we’re finding that as long as everybody just takes it easy (a.k.a. no adults doing any “real” jumping while our tiny girl is on board) that the injury risk is minimal (knock on wood). I hope I don’t come back to this site reporting an injury any time soon. 😉

Have a happy weekend everyone, and Happy Veterans Day!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
