Year in Review 23 Comments

2016review

Years from now, my guess is that I’ll likely recall four main events that defined our 2016: the year our second daughter was born, the year that brought Jamie home from another deployment, the year I became an aunt and my sister a mother, and the year that flipped my entire life upside down when we came devastatingly close to losing Hadley. At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, having a second baby and nearly losing my first one forever changed my life in many different ways.

This year we made a lot of happy decisions about our future as a family and the direction(s) that we’d like to head. I am still madly in love with creating content for Whimsical September, and I’m continually grateful for the creative outlet this blog gives me and for all of you that pop in as often as you do.

We’re closing out the year feeling pretty fortunate around here. Despite whatever hardships, big and small, that you may have faced this year, I hope you’re able to count a load of blessings and feel fortunate as well.

Feel free to keep up with our crazy crew on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat (@WhimsicalSept) the next couple weeks, and I’ll be back on this site in the new year. Love you all! Merry Christmas and Happy, Happy New Year!

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
