Oh hi there SATURDAY! I couldn’t be one ounce more stoked that today is here because my Saturday Sit-Down series is officially kicking off! I have over 30 (!!!) incredible women lined up to share with you this year, so I hope that popping onto my site on Saturday will become a part of your weekend routine. 🙂 🙂
I’ve shared before that I have a great interest in hearing others’ stories, so this is going to be such a fun way to really learn about other everyday people.
So without further adieu, meet “Mili Wifey”. 🙂
Q: I’ve been following your blog for around 18 months, but I don’t know much about when/how you got started. When and why did you start your blog?
A: I began my blog in October 2013 because I missed writing and making people laugh. I have always been on the Internet or social media in some way, form or fashion. Back in the prehistoric days of the Internet, I ran my own X-Files Fan Website named The Truth Is In Here. And I was hugely into blogging and writing funny stories, poetry and songs over the years, even during the days of MySpace. You could say the Internet is a creative outlet for my warped sense of humor!
Q: Describe someone who you think would really enjoy your content.
A: If you have a great sense of humor, or you need a good laugh, and can put up with a teensy tiny bit of vulgar language, you will enjoy my blog. I enjoy making people laugh. Brightening your day with a little silly humor makes me smile. Until I have the courage to perform Improv comedy, the Internet shall be home to make other people pee their pants laughing.
Q: I know that you’d prefer to keep your identity a secret, but what can you tell us about who you are personally?
A: I was born and raised in Louisiana, and like all good girls from the Bayou, I attended college at LSU and bleed purple and gold (Geaux Tigers!). I have quite a few college degrees, including a legal one which accompanies a law license. Military Husband is, duh, in the military and has been for a good portion of his adult life. We met online and you can read all about this here: How I Met My Husband Through CBS’ Big Brother. We just celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary on January 11, 2017.
Military Husband and I chose that wedding cake topper after looking for hours for the perfect one. It really signifies us as a couple and it sits in our china cabinet to this day.
Q: I always enjoy your stories about Maddie the pug! Tell us more about her.
A: #MaddiethePug was Military Husband’s dog before I met him. I always tell people I married him for his pug!
She is super intelligent, independent, and loving. She was the runt of her litter, so she is tiny compared to most pugs and super adorable. There is a quote, “Though She Be But Little, She Is Fierce.” This describes Maddie perfectly!
She always makes me smile, she loves hotel trips and she literally is my spirit animal. There is no little dog quite like Maddie. She was Military Husband’s healing pug when he came home from war and is my bestie forever. I feature her often on my blog!
We also have a beautiful baby pug named BabyBelle. I would love to feature her more, but she is a busy baby pug and never sits still for the camera. She loves unconditionally and is an especially huge fan of other puppies and children. I think she believes she is a little kid!
I have an entire section of my blog devoted to our pugs. So, if you just want to see cute pug pictures you should check out this link.
Q: What is your favorite and least favorite part about living in Boston so far?
A: I absolutely LOVE Boston and New England. I feel so fortunate the military brought our family here! I am an only child, thus, I do miss my mom and dad (mainly because I want to share this incredible experience with them). However, I know this is an opportunity to experience something completely different. We are only 3 hours and 45 minutes away from New York City. And I have stardust in my eyes for the most magical city on earth. The little girl me who wanted to be an actress on Broadway and move to NYC would be so proud!
We live on the beach in Massachusetts so we have incredible views.
Military Husband gets to see his all time favorite baseball team play.
And I live in a land of seafood heaven!
So far, Boston is incredible and I highly encourage any of you to take the chance on moving to a completely different part of the country or to a big city. It is already changing our lives! Follow my instagram for more pictures!
Q: I know you’re a big fan of Lifetime movies. Does your husband watch them with you?
A: Military Husband watches Lifetime movies only when his Bose headphones are not working properly. Haha. But really though, if you read my recaps, you will see his commentary from time to time! He gets a huge kick out of the movies and he is the first person I let read my recaps. If he is howling in laughter, I know I have done my job.
Q: What are your two favorite Lifetime movies?
A: I began watching Lifetime movies back in the early 90s. My old school favorites are Death of A Cheerleader (starring Tori Spelling), A Killer Among Friends (starring Patty Duke and Tiffani Thiessan) and The Killing Secret (starring Soleil Moon Frye). These were the BEST (all based on true stories) and had me hooked! I was a huge fan of a good Lifetime movie cheese fest when I was in law school.
Currently, I am obsessed with the Stalked By My Doctor series starring Eric Roberts. You can start reading those recaps here (Stalked By My Doctor) or just check out my entire Lifetime Movie Recaps section here.
Q: Where should readers start if they want to visit your site for the first time?
I would check out any of my posts in my humor section of my blog!
Dying To Be A Military Wife (A Lifetime Movie Written By Mili Wifey)
And just for fun…
Q: Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska?
A: We want to live in Hawaii! We plan to retire there in the near future.
Q: How many pillows do you sleep with?
A: Now you be creeping in my bed, girl. I sleep with two, as does Military Husband. And we have two pug pillows who cuddle with us.
Q: Do you collect anything?
I collect interesting coffee cups.
I also collect anything geeky. I love X-Files and Marvel everything, and Saw is my favorite horror movie franchise (I LOVE horror movies). I have an entire nerd room and I painted many of the pictures in my room in honor of my faves.
Q: If you could hire someone, would it be to help with cooking or cleaning?
A: Honestly? Neither. I do not work currently, and I believe part of my job is to run our household. I enjoy having a nice house and awesome food on the table for Military Husband. I LOVE cooking. I have an entire section on my blog for the cooking challenged titled “How To Cook.” I am here to help you look like a chef to your husband.
Here are a few of my pieces:

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
