Today’s featured blogger is one of those people that I think I would be friends with in real life if we had the chance! She could not be more down to earth and is very relatable. You all will enjoy her!! Meet Erin from Coffee and Cookie Crumbs. 🙂
Q: Introduce yourself in three sentences or less!
A: My name is Erin and first and foremost, I am a daughter of the King (a definite work in progress!). I am also a wife to David, a mommy to Hadley (3 y.o. daughter) and Griffin (1 y.o. son), and a nurse by trade. I am currently in school to get my doctorate of nursing practice- specializing in pediatrics.
Q: I love that we both have daughters named Hadley! How did you come up with her name?
A: I was so excited when I found Erica’s blog because we both have daughters named Hadley—and they are only a couple weeks apart! I don’t remember when I first heard the name “Hadley”- it was years ago when I was still in high school, but the name has always been in the back of my mind. When we found out we were having a girl, we wrote down a list of names and just kept coming back to “Hadley”. Her name fits her perfectly; we joke all the time that, of course she’s a “Hadley”, she could never have been anything but! She’s wide open and going non-stop all. the. time.
Q: What are your favorite and least favorite things about the spacing between your son and daughter?
A: The spacing between Hadley and Griffin was purely accidental. We weren’t expecting another baby so soon, but it has turned out to be the biggest blessing. Hadley and Griffin are 1 week shy of being exactly 2 years apart—almost to the hour, ha! We prepared Hadley as best we could to be a big sister and she has taken to the role beautifully. She is such a little mommy and Griffin just really loves her. They are close enough in age that, now that G is older, they play together. My least favorite thing about their spacing is the diapers! Hadley was still in diapers when Griffin was born and I thought I was going to lose my ever loving mind with all the diapers I had to change!
Q: I know you love to craft! What are your favorite things to make, and how do you find the time to do this hobby?
A: I do love to craft! I got that from my mom- she is the crafting queen in our family! I go through cycles with my “favorite” crafts, but right now I love making t-shirts and wooden signs and working on my photography. I don’t have a lot of time in my schedule between assignments for school, raising babies, keeping house, working, and weekly engagements, but I make time because it’s something that helps me de-stress (usually!) and re-set my focus.
Q: When and why did you start your blog?
A: I actually started blogging in college. I studied abroad and kept a blog while I was gone to keep my family and friends updated. The original blog was: http://erob310.blogspot.com . Then, when I graduated and got a real job, it was away from my family, so I continued to blog for them. I’ve blogged on and off since 2008 (my study abroad year). It goes in cycles, but we still live away from family, so most of my posts now revolve around our kids to keep them updated.
Q: Who do you think would really enjoy your blog?
A: Well, I know my family enjoys my blog! But a lot of my posts have to do with raising kids, so I think other moms would enjoy it as well. I know I’m always looking for new things to do with my kids or even someone who has “been there and done that” when child-rearing questions come up!
Q: If you and your husband could get away for a few hours kid-free, what would your ideal date night look like?
A: Honestly, my initial reaction to this question was: SLEEP! Ha! But neither of my kids sleep through the night, so I’m the queen of sleep deprivation right now. Really, though, I love to eat and I love to talk so going out to dinner would be great. We have a restaurant where we live that serves truffle butter and I could seriously eat my weight in that stuff. So if we could go have a quiet dinner there, talk about life (basically our kids…we get away and that’s all we want to talk about!), and get some adult conversation in, I’d be set.
And just for fun…
- Cable or Netflix/Hulu?
- Neftlix/Hulu all the way! I never have time to just sit and watch a tv show when I want.
- Spring or fall?
- I love the crisp feel, the warm layers, and the autumn colors.
- Weekend road trip or week-long vacation?
- Weekend road trip! When we take week-long vacations, I need a vacation from my vacation—you know what I mean? 😉
- Dogs or cats?
- I’ve had both and hands down, dogs all the way.

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
