Happy Hump Day! This morning we’re waking up with a couple of visitors! My in-laws just made it into town from Austin, so we’re looking forward to spending the rest of the week and the weekend with them. My mother-in-law’s birthday was yesterday, and we’re excited to celebrate her day just a tad belated.

I’ll be back with another fun Disney post tomorrow (see my first one here), but today I’m linking up with Shay, Mel, and Sheaffer for their monthly What’s Up Wednesday. Feel free to chime in in the comments and play along!
What we’re eating…
This week we utilized Hy-vee’s Aisles Online to order our groceries and have them delivered, which is a totally free service if you spend more than $100 (which, hellooooo, is almost every week!) I spent Monday night meal planning for our guests before placing our order. We figure we’ll go out to dinner twice and eat at home twice. When we’re home, we’re planning to make these BBQ Pineapple Baked Tacos and veggies one night, and then Jamie wants to grill bacon bleu cheese burgers with homemade red potato fries and a salad on the side. Should be some good eats this week (which means my tail will be out the door running more too!)
What I’m reminiscing about…
Disney (shocker). You guys… I probably sound crazy, but Disney is just this magical little bubble! I was planning to share this in a later post, but I made this video slideshow from all the quick videos I shot throughout the week, and I’ve already watched it probably seven or eight times. I know I’ll reminisce about this sweet trip forever. Very happy times.
What I’m loving…
Oddly, the rainy weather we’re having right now and will be having the next few days. I’m one of the weird ones that loves a good rainy day and finds it totally refreshing. It doesn’t rain much here at all, so I get a little excited when I see rain on the forecast. I know warm (and then hot…!) weather is right around the corner, so I can handle just a couple more weeks of these mildly chilly temps.
What we’ve been up to…
Cleaning and planning for what kinds of stuff we still want to do around the house. We have a deck to stain, cabinets to paint, many beds to mulch, etc. Psst… Do you remember when we painted the exterior of our house last summer?
What I’m dreading…
So many of our close friends (nearly all!) are moving in the next few weeks/months. It’s kind of ripping my heart out!
What I’m working on…
Well, I’m about to start working on painting our cabinets. WISH. ME. LUCK.
What I’m excited about…
My mom’s week-long visit in April, my best friend’s beach bachelorette party in June, and then her wedding in July!

What I’m reading/watching…
Ha…. nothing. I’m not currently reading any books and since we cut cable, I’m not currently watching a lick of TV.
What I’m listening to…
Nothing in particular. I’ve been listening to more praise music during my runs, but otherwise nothing new!
What I’m wearing…
Right now, I’m wearing a side braid, leggings, a tunic sweater, and (I don’t know why I’m still wearing them since I’m in the house.)
What I’m doing this weekend…
Hadley has her first soccer practice on Saturday! Wheeeee!
What I’m looking forward to next month…
Sadie’s first birthday (we’re not doing anything big!) and, again, my mom’s visit.
March bonus question: My favorite spring wardrobe piece is…
I’d have to say a true springtime staple are my . I bought three pastel-colored short-sleeved tops last spring and I wear them constantly. I love pairing them with layers, shorts, pants, skirts, statement jewelry, you name it. They are so ridiculously comfy! If you snag a few (and you should!), make sure you size down because they’re roomy and run big!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
