We had so much fun throwing this Little Man baby shower for the sweetest friend. This blog post shares food ideas, decor, and much more. Enjoy!
On Saturday morning we celebrated one of the sweetest friends I’ve ever met and the little boy cookin’ in her belly with a little man baby shower brunch. We bounced off of her nursery colors and the nickname they sometimes use for their son and chose to do a black and white “little man” themed event.
Little Man Baby Shower

Kelsey and I met just over two years ago when she first moved to Kansas. A mutual friend from our previous duty stations (Hey Angela!) connected us on Facebook, and during our first “blind girlfriend date” at a local doughnut shop we quickly realized that our husbands worked together and would be deploying together in the fall. Our personalities clicked effortlessly and we’ve been close ever since.

She is going to be the most incredible mama, and we are so excited to see her embrace this role so soon! How beautiful is she (and she has a personality to match!)?
We threw the shower at our friend Shannon’s house along with our third hostess, Kitty. We all had so much fun making our visions come together for this event, and planning this with them was seriously a joy. As we were getting everything together the morning of the shower, we were talking about how this was such an easy shower to plan because everyone is so decisive but also very open to others’ ideas and just making it all work together. 🙂 We knew it didn’t need to be totally picture perfect; We just wanted to celebrate and love on Kels!

We know summertime Saturdays can be very busy, so we decided on a morning/brunch shower so that guests could enjoy the event and then still keep afternoon/evening commitments. This worked out great! We served two breakfast casseroles (Kitty knocked them out of the park!), doughnuts, mini cupcakes, fruit, cookies, mimosas, and lemon water.
We went back and forth about what to do about games but ultimately decided to have a couple areas with “send homes” for Kelsey – “midnight diapers” with funny messages on newborn diapers and then a station for writing advice/love notes from other Army wives. Shannon put all of this together and it was so sweet.

This was Kelsey’s last shower of three, so now she gets to go home and play with all of her baby stuff and get it all in order to meet her little man. Ahh, I just can’t wait to lay eyes on him!
Celebrating Kelsey was easy to do considering she’s so eagerly celebrated each of us during our pregnancies in the past. Here we are in November 2015 at a baby sprinkle she and I threw for Shannon’s second baby, Vinny.
And here we are in January 2016 at a shower she and I threw for Kitty before she had her son, Luca.
And then finally, here we are again at a surprise baby sprinkle she threw for me in March 2016 before I had Sadie.
To say I’m thankful for this group is an understatement!
Let’s chat!
Do you like/prefer brunch time bridal/baby showers? Also, kind of random, but what are your thoughts on couples shower? Some people either love them or think they’re really dumb. Ha! Curious to hear, just for fun.

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
