Cheers to the weekend! I hope you’re enjoying the last few days of July. How in the world is August and school and FALL right around the corner? So crazy!
This weekend’s Saturday Sit-Down feature is all about a sweet blogger named Jessica. 🙂 I started poking around on her site recently in preparation for this feature, and I was so intrigued simply because she has two daughters like me who are just a few years older than ours. I felt like some of the things I was reading about were little glimpses into what our lives and routines will look like before too long. Her family is so beautiful and they seem like a genuinely fun and happy family. I’m all about finding blogs that give off that vibe! Meet Jessica.
Q: In three sentences or less, tell us a little bit about who you are.
A: I am a wife to an amazing husband and a mom to two busy and beautiful girls. In my free time I love to hang out with my friends. I recently started as a Stitch Fix Stylist. So currently I am juggling mom duties and a full and part time job – fun!
Q: When did you start your blog, and what do you primarily write about?
A: I started blogging ten years ago (wow!) so that our family and friends who live several hours away could watch our girls grow up. Lately, I blog about our crazy life and travels around the world. It’s always evolving, and I love that.
Q: Who do you think would really enjoy your content?
A: Moms that are looking for someone just like them, struggling with the same challenges, crazy busy with kids and trying to have a social life, be a good wife, mother and figure myself out. I am definitely not a mom/blogger that has it all figured out, but I love connecting with other bloggers in the same stage of life.
Q: Which form of social media do you enjoy being active on the most, and why?
A: I am very active on Instagram and now in my fourth year of taking daily pictures of our family. I’ve loved catching the moments of our lives. This year my hashtag is #thewhitefamilydailypic2017 if you would like to follow me on this journey.
Q: I know you have two daughters! Tell us a little bit about them. 🙂 What do you love about the ages they are right now?
A: Kate is our little girl that wants to be sixteen. She is a very sweet girl and always wants to please everyone. She loves quality time with her family too, so we love that.
Abigail is always entertaining everyone! She has a carefree attitude and is our child that just goes with the flow. They are both involved in church, school activities and several sports.
Q: I saw that you and your husband really enjoy spending time with your couple friends. What kinds of things do you all like to do together? How do find time to prioritize your friendships with other couples?
A: Danny recently started to travel for his work, so quality time has become a priority. When he is home, we make sure to squeeze in time together. This could mean just hanging out at home on the couch, going out to dinner, or watching a movie at our favorite movie theater. Spending time with other couples is very important to us as well! We are blessed to be a part of a church group that spends a lot of adult time together. Once or twice a month we are getting together with our good friends.
Q: Your travels have been extensive! How fun! Where are a couple of places that you can’t wait to go back to? Do you have any trips you’re currently planning?
A: We love to travel!! Looking back at all of the places we have traveled I would love to go back to Rome, Italy. We are planning a family vacation to Hawaii next summer and hopefully to bring our girls to Miami next spring for a long weekend. However, since Danny travels all over the place for work, you never know where the next big trip will be. 🙂 We’ve been known to book last minute flights to just get away for some time together, and very fortunate that both of our parents are retired and willing to come watch our girls.
Q: What do you enjoy doing during your free time?
A: Free time, ha-ha! My good friend tells me that she doesn’t know when I sleep because I am always on the go. However, when I DO have downtime I like to go have coffee or a glass of wine with my girlfriends. I’m also very active in our girl’s elementary school. In fact, I’m on the PTA board again this year and at least three or four times a month I’m volunteering at the school. I stay busy 🙂

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
