Naan Bread Pizza: An Easy, Delicious Weeknight Dinner Recipe

Margherita Naan Bread Pizza: The combination of the spices, cooked tomatoes, and melted cheese all on top of this soft bread makes this meal mouthwatering. Scroll to the bottom for the full recipe! It’s a crowd pleaser the whole family will love and ask for again and again.

My mother-in-law is an exceptional cook, and during one of her visits last year she made us the most outrageous homemade Philly cheesesteaks. Her secret weapon for making them so deliciously perfect: Naan bread.

Since then I’ve picked up Naan bread a handful of times for various meals, but our family’s favorite way to use it is, hands down, for pizza.

Naan Bread Pizza

And MY OH MY, do I have a heck of a pizza recipe for you today, friends. Tell whoever you’re cooking for to save their appetites for this one because they’re going to want more and more. It’s honestly unexpected (because this looks like any regular pizza, right?) but totally outrageous and so full of flavor.

Margherita Naan Bread Pizza: The combination of the spices, cooked tomatoes, and melted cheese all on top of this soft bread makes this meal mouthwatering. This pizza is quick and easy to make, but tastes like you've slaved in the kitchen for hours. It's shockingly tasty! Perfect for a night in with your family or to serve at a casual pizza party. It would even work well sliced up as an appetizer. Enjoy!

The combination of the spices, cooked tomatoes, and melted cheese all on top of this soft bread makes this meal mouthwatering. But don’t skip the Naan bread and recreate this pizza on just any precooked or homemade dough. We’ve tried that, and it didn’t have nearly the WOW! factor that it does on Naan bread. In essence, the Naan bread absolutely makes this meal.

A few things that make this Naan bread pizza so great:

  1. It can be put together in a quick five minutes, followed by just 10 minutes of baking.
  2. It’s mindless and can be made casually while a friend or family member sits across the counter from you (I know from experience!)
  3. You can involve your kiddos in cooking this meal. My daughter loves spreading around the olive oil, placing tomatoes and pepperonis, and sprinkling cheese.

Tip: My absolute favorite Naan bread is from Aldi (their Specially Selected brand). I enjoy scooping up a pack or two when I see it and then freezing it until the day I need it. I’ve mentioned before that I decide what’s for dinner in the morning, so if we’re having Naan pizza, I’ll let it defrost in the refrigerator all day until it’s dinnertime.

Let’s get cookin’!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cover a sheet pan with foil and spread around 1 tsp of olive oil on each piece of Naan bread. Next, top each bread with 1/2 tsp of minced garlic (we use the kind from a jar for the sake of time, but obviously fresh works too!)

Next, toss around 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on each piece of Naan bread.

Next, thinly slice up one Roma tomato and divide between two pizzas.

Next, add a shake or two of salt and pepper to taste to each pizza.

Grab some pepperoni and add as much as your heart desires to your pizzas. On this particular day, we only had the mini pepperonis left over from an appetizer we’d made, and our girls loved placing them.

Grab your basil and add a sprinkle to each pizza (rough 1/2 tsp).

Next, add 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese to each pizza.

Place in the oven for 9-10 minutes and then broil on top rack for 90 seconds.

Enjoy immensely.

Easy Weeknight Dinner: Margherita Naan Bread Pizza

We like to use a pizza cutter to split ours in half and enjoy with a side salad. The Naan bread pizzas, paired with a veggie or salad, is enough to fully satisfy our family of four for dinner.

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
