I did a little some’em some’em last fall for a blog post that was so much stinkin’ fun and actually incredibly helpful when it comes to blabbing my life away in this space. I reintroduced myself and asked you to do the same!

So since so many of you humored me last year and played along, I worked up the guts to do it again this year. ๐
Since finding a new lifestyle blog like this is often like picking up in the middle of a novel where one has no idea what’s going on, let me tell you a little bit about me and what’s going on in my orbit right now.
I’m a wife to a guy that I met on a blind date in college, and we’re coming up on 10 years since we first met at the bottom of an escalator in a tiny airport in New York. I kid you not that we were pretty much both off the market as soon as we met. Kinda weird, but he was it for me and me for him. He’s a Military Intelligence Captain in the Army, so what his job entails is kind of a mystery to me beyond that. ๐ He’s currently a company commander and I’m his Family Readiness Group leader, but we’re passing off these roles in three weeks.
We have two daughters; Hadley will be four next month (how?!) and Sadie is 18 months today! I always saw myself having girls, so they’re 110% my dreams come true. They fight over toys like no tomorrow, but otherwise they are each other’s favorite people. Sadie thinks Hadley hung the moon, and Hadley thinks Sadie is the funniest little playmate.
I turn 30 in January and oddly cannot wait for my 30s. The best things in my life have happened in my 20s, but the hardest seasons have been in my 20s as well. The Army has been a very, very rocky road for our family, and I announced last month that in March we’re officially transitioning out of the Army and into the civilian world. We’re excited and terrified all at the same time. ๐ We met right when we both turned 20, so we think it’s fitting that we’re starting this new chapter at the same time that we’re both entering a new decade (our birthdays are three weeks apart). We have no idea where we are moving and what we’ll be doing (hence the terrifying part), so stay tuned. ๐
My favorite things to do are be home with my family (including my extended family when they visit or we visit them), go on walks and hikes, have backyard barbecues with friends and their kiddos, drink wine, eat pizza, travel, and blog.
I’m so stupidly obsessed with The Bachelor franchise that it’s laughable!
I’m the definition of an extraverted introvert. I love being social and spending maximum time with friends and family (I am fiercely loyal to my friends and have a select few I will work to keep in my life until I’m 100), but I recharge by having quiet time alone at home daily.
I’m originally from Madison, Alabama and Jamie is from Birmingham. I graduated from The University of Alabama where college football is KING, and Jamie graduated from West Point, where college football is maybe… just maybe… looking up. ๐
My favorite vacation I’ve ever (ever!) been on was taking my kids to Disney World, but my favorite city to visit over and over again is NYC.
Finally, I’m a Christian who wholeheartedly believes that Jesus saves and gives direction and peace that’s often unexplainable. I pray you know this truth as well.
As for this blog, I share it all. Our everyday lives is my content, and I share our adventures, our mundane, our trials, our funnies, and our joys.
Very, very, VERY happy that YOU are here!
Okay! Your turn. I know there are a ton of folks around here who have never commented before (TOTALLY OKAY – DUH!), but I would so enjoy knowing who is on the other side of the screen. ๐
What’s your name? Where do you live? Are you married? Kids or no? What are your hobbies? When do you usually read my blog? How did you find it? Tell me about you!
Thank you!! Sending big hugs today wherever you are.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
