When the temperature isn’t too drastically hot or cold, we live outside. Our kids are always happiest being outdoors (I swear that’s our cure-all for bad moods in this house!) We haven’t splurged for a backyard swing set yet since we’d like to wait until we’re in a more permanent home (a.k.a. out of the military, which is soon!), but we’ve tried to find other fun outdoor activities to keep them busy and having fun in the backyard.
If the idea of showing your kid(s) a big backyard surprise on Christmas morning is something that thrills you, play around with the idea of purchasing one of these bad boys! Who wouldn’t love all of these?!
Gift Ideas: Backyard Toys and Fun
Step2 Up & Down Roller Coaster ($88.22), because the video on Amazon is so convincing!! Hadley is dying for this. So adorable!
Soccer Goals ($29.99), because this is an awesome gift idea if you have a soccer lover!
Spider Web Tree Swing ($72.99), because I’m seeing this kind of swing pop up on social media more and more frequently, and they look like a total blast!
Portable Badminton Set ($35.08), because your kids and relatives love playing games and doing competitive things, so why not bring the games outside and play a few rounds of Badminton? This set is portable and looks incredibly easy to take and set up anywhere.
Flyer Airplane Teeter Totter ($261.99), because I’m just dying over how precious this is! And look at all those seats. Your kids and their friends who be endlessly entertained!
Skywalker Trampline 15′ with Net Enclosure ($291.92), because I can personally vouch that this trampoline totally rocks. Getting one for our three year old may have sounded completely crazy, but it’s probably her favorite thing she’s ever gotten. Adults and kids alike have a total ball on our trampoline! So much fun.
Camping Tent ($40+), because this list of tents makes me want to buy one for our family and plan a camping trip! You could set it up on Christmas morning and let the kids (bigs and littles – fun for everyone!) explore it and get excited to eventually use it.
Heracles Seesaw ($52.64), because look at these reviews and the price tag! Holy moly. So great. Now I want this for my girls… hmmm. Apparently can be used indoors or out!
Step2 Neat and Tidy II Playhouse ($171.99), because playhouses offer endless creative fun for kids and their siblings/friends.

Hi! I’m a proud Army wife and mom to two little girls (ages 1 and 4), and I love sharing our lives with you. I blog all about motherhood, our time in the military, our travels, our meals, my fitness journey, my fashion favorites, and so much more. I truly enjoy sharing it all! I can’t get enough of birthday cake ice cream, weekend sunrise runs, or making my girls belly-laugh. I write almost daily about my family’s lives, and though I like to keep things light, I also share the messy parts too. Welcome! So glad to have you around. I’m active on Facebook and Instagram and would love to communicate with you there!
