Good morning, friends! What are you up to this weekend? We have some friends visiting us this weekend who we haven’t seen in nearly three years (!), so we are excited to soak up their visit and take them to a few of our favorite local hotspots.
I’m smiling from ear to ear as I introduce you to Becky, the creator behind her blog Grandma Becky L. I love the diversity that’s displayed through this series, so it’s neat to have her voice and style join the long line of bloggers that have been featured here. I really enjoyed reading her responses to her questions and getting to know her and her family. I hope you do too! Meet Becky.
Q: Hi Becky! In three sentences or less, introduce yourself! ☺ Tell us briefly about who you are.
A: I’m a former farm girl that love lambs, went to college, US Air Force veteran, 1976-80. Married to Phil, also US Air Force veteran, 1974-78. Photographer. Love the Lord with all my heart.
Q: When did you start your blog, and what are your favorite topics to write about?
A: I started my blog about 2009 when I became a grandma! To share my photography, family, my grandchildren. I like to share inspirational posts as well.
Q: How often do you publish new posts, and when do you make the time to create them?
A: I publish twice a week. Some are short, some are not. I find time through the week to gather photos from a specific photo folder that I want to share. I upload them into my blog. Then I find snippets of time to work on the content.
Q: What is your favorite thing about keeping a blog?
A: Sharing my photography. Connection with the world.
Q: Congratulations on recently celebrating 40 years of marriage! Did you do anything special to celebrate? What is one of your biggest pieces of marriage advice?
A: We had a celebration at our house the weekend after our anniversary where we invited family and friends to come eat and laugh and celebrate our years together. We were spoiled! So many people came and the house was full of people as the afternoon went by.
Advice: Find things you both like to do. Then enjoy them together. On our trips I take a lot of photos and Phil is my tripod carrier. We enjoy the coast and other areas in our state. I support his speeches in Toastmasters and go when I have a chance to hear him in competitions.
Work on your marriage, just like anything else in life that’s worth doing. It’s an investment of your own life that you committed to from the beginning of your marriage. Loving your spouse, helping each other through the good and hard times. God can be help in all this as well if you put Him at the head of your marriage, invite him into you lives. He’s there for all of us. Pray for your spouse. Say ‘I Love You’ often.
Spend quality time together, ask questions that get more than a yes or no answer.
Q: How many children and grandchildren do you have? What do you enjoy most about having adult children?
A: We have two adult children, our daughter, Megan, single and still lives with us, but is working. Our son, Justin is married to Erin and they have three adorable children.
I enjoy seeing them competent and have a great work ethic, their creativity, wisdom, their faith walk with the Lord, their love and compassion for other people.
Q: What are a few of your favorite ways to spend your time with your grandchildren?
A: Just being with them, watching them play with Legos, and playing on the playground in parks they frequent when we are out and about in the warmer, drier weather of Oregon.
Q: Where should new readers start on your site?
Fun Family Reveal and Flock/Fiber Fest
And just for fun…
- Black coffee or cream and sugar? I prefer hot tea, milk and sweet and low.
- Sandals or tennis shoes? sandals
- Bowling or putt putt golf? bowling
- Dogs or cats? cats

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
