Every once in a while I’ll sit down during my self-designated “work time” with no plan at all for what I’m going to write about. I just write. This afternoon, I have my feet kicked up on the coffee table, laptop on my outstretched legs, and am breathing a sigh of relief that for the next 45ish minutes I’ll get to clear my brain and share a few thoughts that are rolling around in it today. 🙂
Sadie is almost 2 (!) and on the brink of doing all the things – big girl bed transition, potty training, talking a mile a minute, understanding consequences, and is just becoming the best little buddy to have around the house.
Hadley has always been really sad when each of her little friends moved away, but she doesn’t seem sad in the slightest about moving away herself. She knows we’re headed to Alabama, and every day she asks if it’s time to go yet. She has so many big plans for when she gets there, and she is just as excited about our new house as we are. Her biggest concern with our move is if all of her toys are coming with us, and we’ve had to reassure her 100 times that nothing will be left behind. 🙂
I plan on doing a full review soon, but our was a Godsend during the 2ish months we had the house actively showing. I never understood why a robot vacuum was so great until I saw my mom’s in action, and from there on I knew I needed to have one. Everyone who talks to me regularly knows how bananas I am about “Sammy” (named by Hadley), and for good reason. My floors – hardwood, carpet, and tile – have never been cleaner.
I always thought the hardest part of showing our home would be keeping it clean, but I was wrong. The hardest part was actually having to be out of the house at the most inconvenient times. In fact, there was never a time that was convenient to show the house. When I envisioned getting out of the house during showings, I figured that would be our chance to go to the playground or run errands, but for some reason every showing threw off our day. The texts would come in with a showing request, and part of me would get so excited and the other part of me would sigh about whatever we had on tap that day that would now be messed up. This sounds so petty and ungrateful, but showing the house for two months (and losing our initial buyers) was such a drag. Reason #1,475 we aren’t moving again any time soon. 😉
We got on a Hello Fresh kick for a couple of months when Jamie got home in December, and we seriously loved every meal we ate. We both got kind of sick of spending 45ish minutes cooking dinner 4 nights/week though, so we scaled back our subscription and are only planning on receiving one box/month (because the meals really are so great and the “shake up” in what we usually eat is welcomed). I’m so glad we did Hello Fresh though because we now have a slew of fabulous, tried and true recipes on hand to grab from that we’ve recreated a ton of times. This is only the third meal service we’ve ever tried, but this was is by far our favorite.
We are officially one week out from the moving truck being in front of our house. Everything is off the walls, all inspection report repairs are completed, services are scheduled for shut off, finalized details are happening right and left with our new house, and somehow we both still have a mile-long list of things to do between now and rolling out of Kansas. It’s getting hard to stay upbeat due to one wave of issues after another lately, but we know the light at the end of the tunnel is getting a bit brighter.
And finally, I am shouting from the rooftops about .
I read about them on Shay’s blog about six-ish weeks ago during a time when my skin was going completely nuts. I was washing my face regularly like I always had, but I was getting the most bizarre, awful-looking breakouts. I decided to splurge and try these pads as she recommended, and I am absolutely sold hook, line, and sinker. I have rarely worn any makeup besides mascara in almost three weeks. It took a week or two to start noticing a difference, but wow… I am BLOWN AWAY by how my face has not only cleared up, but my complexion overall is so much more even. One box has 16 pads and lasts for roughly two months. Highly recommend! Here’s an affiliate link to get 20% off your first order! Woohoo!
Okaaaay, Sadie’s up! Time to tackle the rest of the day. Have a great Friday, friends! See you tomorrow for the “Saturday Sit-Down”. One of my absolute favorite girls is being featured, so you don’t want to miss it! xo
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
