Yesterday was excitedly full of numerous good things! Besides the intoxicatingly perfect springtime weather, we had a ton of reasons to smile.
For starters, I attended my first Orange Theory class and really enjoyed it! Though I wanted to love one of the local 9Round gyms here so (so so!) badly, I sadly knew after trying out both local gyms that I wasn’t going to achieve quite the same workout that I came to expect and enjoy in Manhattan. Darn it! You can ask my mom and Jamie – I was so down about this last week.
I jumped right into something new today though and am looking forward to sticking with it! Everyone was so kind and helpful, and the workout was killer in the best way!
Trying out Orange Theory took up a good chunk of my morning, so while I was out, Jamie loaded up both girls and took them to Dick’s Sporting Goods to get Hadley her first baseball glove! She’s all signed up for a summer t-ball league, and we are squealing with excitement to watch her do something new!
After they picked out her (pink) glove, he sponanteously took the girls over to The Space and Rocket Center. He sent me so many pictures and videos, and I’m honestly not sure who had the most fun – Jamie, Hadley, or Sadie!
During Sadie’s nap time, Jamie and Hadley watched a movie while I worked on a draft for an upcoming sponsored post that’s due later this week. Once Hadley was up, we put shoes on and ran over to a swanky little pet store called Urban Pet Hub. We picked out some freeze-dried treats for our buddy’s 10th birthday!
Our new house is around the corner, so we detoured over there too to check things out. After coming home and playing with chalk in the driveway and painting the girls’ tiny fingernails, my mom took over watching the girls so that Jamie and I could quickly freshen up to head out to dinner to celebrate the official closing on our Kansas home! THREE CHEERS!
Jamie made reservations at Kona Grill, a restaurant we’ve had our eye on trying, and the food and drinks did not disappoint! I’d had weird knots in my stomach a good portion of the day waiting to hear that the home officially closed, so enjoying a relaxing dinner on a patio with Jamie was just what the doctor ordered once we knew that everything was done.
The girls were thankfully both asleep when we got back to my parent’s house, so we kicked back to watch some basketball before eventually calling it a (great) day.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
