When I was browsing through my phone looking for pictures to grab for this “Slice of Life”, I realized that my “videos to pictures” ratio is about 4:1. Ha! We’ve been boppin’ all over the place lately, but I have just a few pictures to show for it. Such is becoming more and more routine I guess! I used to have pictures of everything, but now I’m either not snapping or I’m videoing. Anywho, here’s a quick slice of our lives lately. 🙂 Have a beautiful weekend!
Hadley’s school had a “Dads and Doughnuts” morning a couple weeks ago, and she was counting down the days for weeks! They had been making lots of goodies in school to gift the dads, and she came home from school every day spoiling the surprises of what they’d worked on that day. 🙂 They had so much fun at this sweet little event. We have been so happy with the girls’ preschool this year, so I’ll be extra sad to see Hadley’s “graduate” in a few short months.
Both of the girls have Highlights magazine subscriptions, and though they both love getting them in the mail, Hadley really devours them. She looks through each monthly’s magazine on her own and picks stories and comics that she wants us to read with her. We enjoy seeing them in the mail each month. Highly recommend for your blossoming readers!
Last weekend I spent a good chunk of the day in Birmingham for my college friend Brittany’s baby shower. I’ll be sad when the wedding/baby shower season of our lives is over because these events are always the best excuses to see dear friends who live all over.
Love this beautiful friend and can’t wait to meet and love on her baby boy!
We finally used our new ! I asked for it for Christmas after falling in love with this style of Swiss entertaining after our Switzerland trip, and my MIL gifted it to me. We had a few good friends over for a casual Monday night family hang night, and cooking with the raclette was perfect. I didn’t take this picture until the very end of our meal, but you can see that almost all of the plates and bowls are empty! We feasted! Haha.
This girl and her Ted man – they are quite a pair and love each other so much. Do you ever take a picture and think about the emotion it will evoke later? That’s how I feel about sweet pictures of Teddy lately. We’re so glad (but pretty surprised) he’s still around, so he’s been enjoying endless snuggles from all of us in his old age. 🙂
This picture is another one that makes me smile/think about the future: my girls gifting their great-grandmother flowers on her birthday today. My grandmother is something else to say the least, but our girls think she hung the absolute moon (she thinks the same about them, which is sweet). Happy birthday Grandma!
Let’s chat!
How do you intentionally make time to see old friends who are long distance?
Have you ever cooked with a raclette?!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
