Stitch Fix Maternity Review #29: May 2019

Stitch Fix Maternity Review: This post is written in partnership with Stitch Fix, a brand I have loved, supported, and written about on my own for nearly five years. Thank you to so many of you who have given this service a whirl as well! I know so many of you love it as much as I do.

Stitch Fix Maternity Box

After five maternity Stitch Fix boxes between this pregnancy and my pregnancy with Sadie, I’ve decided that I can confidently put my stamp of approval on this service and whole-heartedly recommend it.

For my fellow expecting mothers, here are two reasons why:

  1. Maternity boxes are always filled with a combination of items that are strictly maternity (i.e. pants and shorts with belly panels, tops/dresses with ruched sides, etc.) as well as items that are generally flowy and conducive to fitting a bump, meaning that I can wear these pieces after pregnancy too!
  2. Comfortable, attractive, quality maternity clothes are difficult to find, at least for me. I’m always limited to Target and Old Navy for maternity wear, and we all know that their maternity sections are basically one rack, maybe two. Not only are Stitch Fix maternity clothes affordable considering the quality, but the pieces are simply just cute!

Even though this is my last pregnancy and I’m not super interested in investing in new maternity clothes, I decided to schedule a fix just for the heck of it see what they sent. 🙂 I’m so used to getting this happy box on my doorstep once a month and have missed it (even though it’s only been three months…. #addict). We have a good chunk of events coming up between now and meeting our baby girl, so I figured I’d roll the dice and hoped for at least one garment that I loved to add to my closet. (My long-time Stitch Fix review readers know that I absolutely ONLY keep pieces that I love. I have no guilt about sending items back if I don’t see myself loving them for several years.)

In my note to my stylist, I requested primarily dresses for upcoming May/June events but also shared that a couple other fun items would be welcomed too!

I loved the beautiful items I received this month in this maternity Stitch Fix box. Here’s what I was sent!

Stitch Fix Maternity Favorites

LOVEAPPELLA MATERNITY: Cheyene Maternity Crossback Knit Tank
STITCH FIX MATERNITY |LOVEAPPELLA MATERNITY: Cheyene Maternity Crossback Knit Tank
This top fit perfectly, and I could see wearing this top honestly twice a week until July. Ha! Not even kidding. It’s just a good basic, and I love the little bit of detailing in the back. (Detailing and cute features like this are generally sooooo hard to find with maternity clothes!)
Since I only have a few weeks left though until D-Day (delivery day) and have a few tanks that I’m borrowing from my girlfriends, I decided to send this back. I won’t be able to wear it after pregnancy because of the maternity-specific sides, so I’m sad to send this one back. It was a great pick from the stylist though!

LUX & CO: Jaden Maternity On/Off the Shoulder Knit Top

{Side note, but Jamie’s shirt is also from Stitch Fix. It’s one of his top “go-to” shirts. He currently receives one box every three months and received his sixth box today. He’s keeping three out of five items.}
I would have never picked up this top in the store because off-the-shoulder tops usually aren’t my best look. I was immediately surprised though by how much I adored this top! I love the print, the super soft material, where it sits on my shoulders, and the length. Though it says it’s a maternity top, it’s one that I’ll 100% be able to wear next summer too. Love! It made my decision easy about what to wear the next day for Mothers Day. 🙂

FRENCH GREY: Ferrin Maternity Halter 2fer Maxi Dress

Now this dress is 100% up my alley and totally my typical style. It’s so feminine and pretty! Unfortunately it’s about an inch too long and just a teeny bit too big. I considered exchanging it for a small, but honestly I’m just a little lazy and am okay sending it back altogether.

This is another dress that could 100% be worn after pregnancy, which is why I considered exchanging it, but my heart won’t be broken sending it back.

FRENCH GREY: Kolby Maternity Surplice Fitted Dress

STITCH FIX MATERNITY |FRENCH GREY: Kolby Maternity Surplice Fitted Dress
This dress surprised me! I didn’t expect to like it but I really do! The brand (French Grey) is probably my favorite from Stitch Fix because the material is CRAZY soft. I have so (!) many of their dresses and am just obsessed with them. Dresses from other stores always seem to change shape after being washed (even in cold water and line dried), but not French Gray! They stay perfect, and no need to iron either.

Honestly, I’m torn about this one and haven’t decided yet. I may keep it and wear it to the girls’ dance recital this weekend as well as a little luncheon for the baby in June, but it’s just a teeny bit shorter than I’m comfortable with (and maybe just a little more fitter than I usually prefer during pregnancy). Also, it’s definitely maternity specific, so I wouldn’t be able to wear it after I deliver. Hmph. We’ll see!

JUST USA: Claren Maternity Fray Hem Short

STITCH FIX MATERNITY | JUST USA: Claren Maternity Fray Hem Short
This is an awesome pair of shorts, love the frayed hem, and they’re so comfy! Unfortunately I already have a pair of maternity denim, and though I like this pair from Stitch Fix WAY better than my pair from Target, I just can’t justify keeping this pair knowing that I already have a denim pair in my closet that I only need to make work for a few more weeks. Boo.

KEEP/SEND BACK

Navy top – sent back

Yellow off-the-shoulder top – kept

Navy floral maxi dress – sent back

Pink floral dress – undecided

Fray hem shorts – sent back

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
