Weeeeeeell.
I got myself in some trouble this week. 😉
It all started when I logged into my Stitch Fix account to make sure I wasn’t receiving a fix this month or next, because I need a few months to let my body figure itself out after Jillian comes. I see that I’m set to receive my next fix in September, so my next step was to write my stylist a note.
I told her that I wanted a fix with all casual tops. I have plenty of everything else, but I don’t have many tops that I can throw on with shorts or jeans during the week. I didn’t want anything fancy of course, but I wanted tops that were comfortable and that I could “wash and wear” (Erica does not iron, dry clean, etc. NO MA’AM) without the quality or shape decreasing/changing. I am picky, picky, picky, but it makes me super feisty when I go to put on a garment that I’ve only worn once to see that the quality or shape has changed after washing it according to how to label says to wash and dry. Ohhhhh I get so fired up. LOL.
But I digress. 🙂
I then felt like I was being a bit too particular and asking my stylist to be a mind-reader, so I decided to go over to “MY ITEMS” (the place on the Stitch Fix website where all of my previous purchases are stored) and grab the names of tops that I’ve loved in the past so that my stylist had a more specific idea of the style, fabric, etc. that I desired.
I clicked “MY ITEMS”….
… AND WHAT IS THIS? Stitch Fix buy new colors? WHAT!
And this is where things went downhill. Or uphill depending on your perspective.
I selected the box on the left that says “Show items available in additional colors”.
…and discovered that so many items I’ve kept and loved in the past are available for individual purchase in other colors and prints. Oh my goodness gracious!
Stitch Fix Buy New Colors Option
All I had to do was click “BUY NEW COLORS” (in red) on each item to see what else was available and in what sizes and prints. So fun!
Because I’ve worn the absolute heck out of my Stitch Fix clothes (it’s all I really wear anyway, duh), I know which items I reach for constantly. To see these exact items available in other colors was kind of thrilling!
You can see in the example below of what happens when you click on each item. It’ll highlight the size you ordered in the past (no running to your closet to check tags!) and then show you all of the available prints/colors. You then press “BUY NOW” and pay for each item individually. No styling fee or anything like that. Just easy freakin’ peasy.
I’m not sure if I missed an email about this or what, but I can’t believe Stitch Fix hasn’t announced this new option on their site, to their influencers, or to their email subscribers.
Because I think this is option is REALLY, REALLY GREAT! I know what garments make me feel good and what holds up, so I was excited to rack up on a few new items that I already know I’ll love and will last.
Once I did some damage, I switched over to Hadley’s and Sadie’s Stitch Fix accounts (as seen below) to see if I needed to update their sizes or make any additional requests before their “back to school” fixes come this month.
I highly recommend scheduling your kiddo a summer or back-to-school fix. Between Hadley and Sadie, we’ve received five Stitch Fix Kids boxes so far and been super happy.
IMPORTANT TIP
These clothes are become MUCH more affordable if you keep the whole box because you get 25% off EVERYTHING. The items are individually more expensive if you only keep a few.
So, with that being said, BE SUPER, SUPER SPECIFIC AND CORRECT WITH SIZES AND WHAT YOUR CHILD ACTUALLY NEEDS. This will increase your chances of everything fitting and your child getting exactly what they need/want for summer or back to school.

Let’s chat!
What is your absolute favorite garment Stitch Fix has sent you? (I’m personally a big fan of their dresses and have loved the French Gray brand.) Have you checked to see if that specific item is currently being offered in other colors?! If not, go check and then let me know if so, and if you bought it!

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
