I’m Erica, and I’ve shared my life in this space since I was 20 years old (I published my first embarrassing post in 2008), and in the last eight years this blog has evolved and changed just as much as I have. It’s safe to say that this little blog and I have grown up together.

Sometimes finding and reading a new blog is like picking up a novel right smack in the middle of the content; you feel a little lost and need to catch up a bit.

So, let me catch you up. 🙂

I met my husband Jamie on a blind date at West Point in 2008, we got engaged during my last semester of college at The University of Alabama, and we got married in 2011 in Destin, Florida after planning our wedding in just seven short weeks.

We have two daughters who are my absolute dreams come true.

Hadley was born in November 2013 and Sadie was born in April 2016. Jamie is an Army officer and was deployed throughout both of my pregnancies. He arrived home from Afghanistan when I was 38 weeks pregnant with Hadley and home from Kuwait (for 11 days) when I was 39.5 weeks pregnant with Sadie. We obviously like living life on the edge. 😉

We currently live in Manhattan, Kansas since Jamie is stationed at Fort Riley. We really love it and think it’s the cutest town to raise our tiny girls. We’re both originally from Alabama (Roll Tide!) and truly miss all things about the south, but we’re (mostly) enjoying seeing the country with the military and the wild ride it’s taken us on as a family so far.

People tell me that they like that I “keep it real” – gosh, I sure do try to. I write about everything – the highs, the lows, the funny, the scary, the moments that only my mom or my husband might find interesting – I genuinely love sharing it all. I hope something you read here inspires you or encourages you to live life to the fullest, something we strive to do every single day.
