locked out.

I locked my keys in my car yesterday. While it was running. With my dog inside. In fact, I wasn’t the one that locked the car at all.TEDDY DID.So while his poor (angry) mama stood outside the running car on the side of the road with my picked-up garage sale sign in hand, he put his little paws up on the dash with… Keep Reading

six months of marriage! Jamie’s take and mine :)

Happy HALF-IVERSARY to us! I debated the idea of doing a “six months in review” post, and Jamie was ALL ABOUT IT. Since he liked the idea so much, I asked if he wanted to do one too. He jumped at the opportunity to be featured on the blog. HA! Sooo, without further adieu, our reflections: Jamie: In the course… Keep Reading

star struck

The sun just came up on day numbero tres of our Wilmington trip, and so far it can be summed up in a single picture. Yes we did visit this fabulous city to tour the One Tree Hill set (Brittany and Bethy MIGHT be die-hard FANATICS).  yes we did run into these two fine men (OTH/Laguna Beach actors) after eating dinner last… Keep Reading

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! My good friend Bethy really loves America 🙂 Isn’t she presh?! My 16 days of traveling have been going quite well, as I have been surrounded by many of the people that I love the most! SKYDIVING!

Greetings from the cold, tile floor of gate F86 inside the Tampa International Airport. The walkway area outside the bathroom entrance was literally the only outlet I could find. I have a feeling that before I am done typing this I may be run over by someone and his/her suitcase, and this would be entirely my fault. I really shouldn’t be… Keep Reading

My journey as a presenter for Rachel’s Challenge officially began last Sunday. As I drove to the Nashville airport that morning, I sort of had a “freak out” moment as I realized that I was about to fly to the other side of the country for five days to begin training for an organization that I really knew next to… Keep Reading

Father of the Bride(s) Part II

After my wedding a few months ago, Dad wanted to write HIS summary of the wedding. If you haven’t read it, click here. If you were a part of the wedding, I guarantee you’ll be laughing out loud! Here is my dad’s reflection of Jennifer’s wedding: My story Father of the Brides Part II, Jennifer and Josh’s Day, started with… Keep Reading

There is no title that could cover all that’s in this post!

Greetings from Fort Campbell! Ah, I am finally home. Teddy and I have been enjoying some quiet time the last few days as we’ve been getting settled in our new permanent home. Poor guy has been back and forth between here and my parent’s house since April 2nd, and though he misses his “grandma” and her dog Lucy terribly, I… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to two little girls (ages 5 and 2) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo

  • #flashbackfriday to October when these precious cousins got to spend the week together in Germany! I never posted this pic online because we wanted to frame it for our parents as a surprise Christmas gift. Gosh, we miss you Alexanders! Can’t wait to add another nugget to this crew this summer! ❤️ #cousins @boden_clothing @jenniferoalexander
  • My @otheorymadison coach (Heeeey Amber!) shared with me yesterday that working out during pregnancy is like “prehab”, which should make the “rehab”/recovery time post-delivery much easier. This FUELED ME big time and pushed me to get up one more time this week to get in a sweat sesh to start the day. I didn’t do much (any? Lol) intentional exercise during my other pregnancies, so I’m curious to see how this delivery/recovery time goes compared to the last couple go-arounds. I can’t say that fitness is helping with the weight gain though; the pounds are still creeping on (not so) slowly but surely, 🤷‍♀️ but I know that’s all a part of this journey. 🤰🏼Were you intentionally active during your pregnancies, and if so, did you feel like it aided your recovery time? Also... swipe to see a dumb snap I took at 4:45 a.m. last week when I just wasn’t feeling the early morning rise and grind. 😂 You have to pay a $12 fee if you late cancel at @orangetheory though, sooo... no flushing 💵💵 down the toilet. 😝 #orangetheoryfitness #otfnation #fitpregnancyjourney #19weeks
  • Mornings spent celebrating friends are just the BEST. 💙 Happy baby shower day, dear Brittany! You are going to make one heck of a mama, and we love you (and that precious Henry!) so much! @brittany.cameron1 @eakclark @marye509 #sororitysisters #milescantseperateus
  • Got to chaperone my big girl’s field trip today to @unclemaddios 🍕 I always love seeing her with her friends and watching how they all interact together. Preschoolers are funny little things. 🙃 Can’t believe kindergarten is so close!
  • Do you use and love your air fryer?! We just got one for Christmas and are more into it than we thought we’d be! My mom told me that anything you cook in the oven can technically be cooked in the air fryer too, so I gave that concept a try with some homemade sausage balls last week. OH MY GOODNESS - I was AMAZED at how fast and how well they cooked. Sharing the recipe + method on @whimsicalseptember blog today. What are your favorite things to cook in your #airfryer ? We would love some new recipes to try in it! #sausageballs #airfryerrecipes
  • 24 amazing hours - pizza and ice cream cake with our families at home last night, our gender reveal party this morning, and then a beautiful sorority sister’s wedding in Birmingham tonight. And I still just cannot believe we are going to have three daughters. My dad said their hallway with their bedrooms is going to be sorority row. 😂 Thank you God for supportive families, precious friends, and this girl gang you’ve given Jamie and me. #bestbirthdayever
