It’s a strange fabulous feeling to be “on my own” financially. Though I worked every summer during college, I always hated feeling short on money. My mom continually gave/gives Jenn, David, and me every penny she had/has, but I am not the type that accepts money well from others. I absolutely loathe asking for money. I graduated from college six months… Keep Reading

Oh, hello…

Somehow, this doesn’t seem like the first time I’ve met you. I very vividly remember saying these words to Jamie as I hugged him for the first time in the teeny tiny Stewart Airport lobby in Newburgh, New York three years ago today. We had been talking on the phone so much throughout the month leading up to our meeting that… Keep Reading

35 hours in Phoenix

Jamie and me really didn’t want to wait a month to see each other, so we used some wedding gift money and I flew to Phoenix (cheaper flight, but three hour drive for Jamie). We were excited about seeing each other and exploring another new city. I got to Phoenix around 10 mountain time Friday night, and my flight left… Keep Reading

Father of the Bride Reflections

Bridal Reflections from the Father of the Bride This is one of the most treasured pieces of writing I have ever read. My dad wrote this days after my wedding, and his dry humor is all over it. I love him so much and will treasure his reflections forever.  Two days after Thanksgiving Day we (Nancy, David, and I plus… Keep Reading

First Dance

Here’s a short video from our first dance. We are completely awful dancers, but still LOVE to dance and had a great time. 🙂 It was so casual and fun… and NO, we didn’t practice for a second. We’re just US! ha! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXNNoyzdWPc&feature=share

mishaps and memories

Some friends and I were talking about my wedding last night at MK’s party (which was fantastic, by the way!), and they asked me if there were any major things that went wrong or I would do differently if I could do it again. To answer the second question – NO, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. There were several… Keep Reading

A crazy week back to work…

I went back to work Wednesday after 12 days off due to the snow and the wedding.. gracious! My first day back was very overwhelming for a NUMBER of reason, but it was also a lot of fun! #1 – It was my first day back being married, so you better believe every girl was dying to see pictures. #2… Keep Reading

The very, very best weekend of my life… We’re married!

I’m at a loss for words on how to begin this post. How do I even BEGIN to put to words all that I experienced in the last eight days? *Deep breath* – Here goes! [ NOTE ] – I have no plans for this post and am going to ramble as thoughts come to mind about the WEEK of… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
