I love you Mom!

Wedding dress = Purchased! Me – “We bought the dress! You sort of have to marry me now…”Jamie – “Oh don’t worry. That’s not a problem!” Can’t wait for June 2, 2012! <3 Jenn and I have such an amazing mom! Jennifer has been engaged for 10 months and I’ve been engaged for three months, and with TWO big weddings coming up,… Keep Reading

A girl can dream :)

I’ve been playing on wedding registry sites today, and somehow ended up on anthropologie.com, only to fall in love with a bedding set that I will never justify spending the money on. Who’d guess this duvet cover ALONE is $300? Forget the sheets, pillow shams, bed skirt, etc. The only time in my life to get this bedding would be… Keep Reading

I love my students!

My 8th graders just finished reading the book Ties that Bind Ties that Break, which revolves around the old tradition of Chinese foot binding, and they loved it. It’s a very simple read, and that’s exactly the type of novel I wanted to start the year off reading. Nothing controversial, too difficult, or too expensive to purchase. I assigned them a… Keep Reading

Prep for Engagement Pictures

Two-ish weeks until Arizona! I am SO excited about this trip because Jamie and I are taking our ENGAGEMENT PICTURES! Tucson is a beautiful area, and we will be taking them at Arizona Senora Desert Museum. It looks gorgeous! We decided to take them out in Arizona because we have to do them before he deploys and we don’t want to… Keep Reading

Narratives, cowboy boots, open garage doors, Luke Bryan, and my matron of honor…

I am definitely the world’s worst blogger. I love to blog (mainly because I love going back and reading my posts months and years later), but I never think about it. My apologies to those who read this blog and find my posts incredibly and unnecessarily long. I am sitting at my desk at work right now procrastinating grading childhood narrative essays…. My Wedding Dress!

I feel like this blog, one that I carelessly registered for over two years ago, is going to be a huge compilation of some of the biggest events in my life. I’m thinking I’m really going to enjoy the rest of my 20’s, as nerdy as that sounds! There are SO MANY exciting/dramatic/drastic/overwhelming/fabulous changes that will take place, from first jobs,… Keep Reading

Wedding Band Shopping

Minor detail from this past Saturday –  Jamie took me to go look at wedding bands! The jeweler he bought my engagement ring from (Diamonds Direct) is only a few miles from where we ate lunch on Saturday, so he suggested that we go and look. I wasn’t too crazy about the idea because I was starting to get really tired from… Keep Reading

Meeting Parents, College Graduation, Wedding Planning, and Being a Teacher

wow wow wow wow wow wow WOW! So much has been happening the last few days, and every bit of it has been extremely exciting. Last week was long. We had orientation every morning, and I worked in my classroom all afternoon. I stayed most days until at least 5. One day I strolled in the door about 7:30. I… Keep Reading

Meet Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you!

I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos.

I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 5, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!)

I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
