Planning a wedding in seven weeks is definitely do-able. Exhausting? Yes. Exciting? Yes. Does it fly by? OH MY GOSH YES.
We have been planning this wedding for 10 days and it feels like one. I cant believe we are just about down to five weeks. I feel like I’ve accomplished a good amount yesterday and today, so I figured I’d end the day with a blog post before hitting the sack (which will happen in about two minutes).
-Picked a florist, flowers, and signed a contract
-Secured a violinist for the ceremony
-Discussed menu options with caterer (still waiting back on “official” menu… it’s been three days. grr.)
-sent in DJ contract
-went to Hartselle for my dress fitting. dress will be ready to be picked up jan. 5th!
-researched cake bakers
-ordered my wedding shoes for the reception. I’ll be barefoot on the beach… 🙂
-Dad got a new suit
-wedding night and mini-honeymoon booked!!!
-all bridesmaids dresses are ordered!!! woohoooooo! this is huge!
-got my garter
-made hair and makeup trial and day-of wedding appointments for me, mom, and jenn
WHEW! I’ve done all of this all while juggling finals with my students. All of this really does fit my personality though. I am miserable when I’m bored! I love coming home and having something to do!
It’s such a great feeling to know that this is exactly where I’m supposed to be in my life. Though I was always excited about the June 2012 wedding, it was so hard to plan anything when it was so far away. I never felt a sincere happiness and peace about that date. Everything is just coming together so well for this wedding, and everyone’s overwhelming support has helped tremendously. I can’t wait to marry my love in 37 days. 🙂
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
