I went back to work Wednesday after 12 days off due to the snow and the wedding.. gracious!
My first day back was very overwhelming for a NUMBER of reason, but it was also a lot of fun!
#1 – It was my first day back being married, so you better believe every girl was dying to see pictures.
#2 – They were attempting to call me Mrs. DeSpain, and nearly every student (okay, AND me!) burst into giggles every time someone called me that!
#3 – It was my BIRTHDAY! The kids found this out from another teacher and of course had to sing as loud as they could and make a big deal about it.
#4 – I had ZERO lesson plans because it had been so long since I’d been in my classroom! I put in the movie October Sky since we had just finished reading the book in December, so I took advantage of getting caught up while they were engaged in the movie.
#5 – I started the day with an SGA meeting. Apparently I had scheduled this with my SGA kids a while ago, and completely forgot! I walked in around 7:10 to see a couple students hanging out outside my door. Luckily, they are a great group of kids and pretty much ran the meeting themselves that day.
#6 – My co-workers threw me a FANTASTIC wedding shower after work because the original one was “snowed” out. 🙂 I am SO blessed with such amazing co-workers who spoiled the mess out of Jamie and me. Awesome, awesome friends.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
