As if this weekend wasn’t fantastic already, Sunday brought the absolute BEST news.
A doctor discovered a 3.5″ cancer mass on my grandma’s kidney a few weeks ago, and we have all been fearful that the cancer had been spreading, based on the size of the mass. Well, the sweet doctor took time on Sunday to give ol’ Grandma a call to let her know that her tests look good and that the cancer has not spread! She will be having the kidney removed in a few weeks, and from there she should be good to go! Praise the Lord! Jamie and I grabbed a celebratory balloon and cookie cake for her to celebrate! It was great!
For those of you who have had the priviledge of meeting my silly Cecile, you understand why this is so fantastic! My grandmother is 71 years young and acts like a teenager. She is fiesty, speaks her mind, loves to be the center of attention, and ALWAYS loves to have a good time! She got all of my friends fired up for my wedding at one of my bridal showers by creating a circle and jumping up and down telling them how excited she was for my wedding. Sure enough, she was the life of the party a few weeks later. From dancing with every male there, stripping my friends’ dates of their sweaters and jackets, to trying to catch my bouquet, she helped to make my wedding what it was.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
