I LOVE welcoming new months! As much as I’m trying NOT to wish away this year, I totally AM because I am READY for my gorgeous husband to be HOME and finally be together for more than a week!! Our long distance will be OVER in FIVE months, and I absolutely CANNOT WAIT!
My philosophy: If I have to be without Jamie, I might as well have a little FUN, and that’s exactly what I did in July.
I spent time on the road and in the air traveling to Tampa, Chattanooga, Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, Madison, and Wilmington (good quality time with good friends from high school and college has crazy power to recharge your batteries).
I cooked dinner for new friends at my place and enjoyed eating their home-cooked meals at there’s.
I’ve worked hard to memorize speeches for Rachel’s Challenge and basked in the goodness of staying in my pajamas until noon several days in a row.
I’ve worked diligently on putting together my house and spending hours upon hours sorting and organizing so that we don’t keep any extra junk around the house (My goal: I want to know where everything is without having to remember where I “put it when we moved in.” With only two people + a furson living here, that should totally be do-able).
I’ve successfully hung curtains, mastered my electric drill, sold a car, attended church alone, gotten into a routine of doing my daily devotional, accidentally left my sprinkler on for 17 hours, mowed my lawn every week, neglected my flowers and then brought them back to life, attended some exercises classes, made car repairs, felt like superwoman, and felt defeated. I’ve never in my life been on such an emotional rollercoaster. I’ve never in my life felt so independent. And I like it.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
