Blogs are SO much more interesting to “read” when the blogger actually puts up pictures. I am a terrible blogger… and need a new camera… Jamie? Care if I invest (because it’s obviously investing if you buy a good one, right?) in a new one?
With that being said, I obviously have nadda one before or after picture of my numerous spray-painting projects, incredible cleaned out and reorganized closet, or all of my many failed and successful kitchen adventures. Because you care so much, right?
I’ll blog about them anyway because mom (yes, she is here after deciding to randomly come spend the weekend with me – hooray!) is sound asleep and I have not a whole lot better to do at the moment.
Do you spray paint? Because you should! While cleaning out my garage (oh yeah – finally did that, too!), I found two things that were about to be ditched – an old brass lamp that I stole from my parent’s garage and a very, very pink over-the-door towel rack from college. I decided before I donated them to the thrift store, I’d try fixing them up. What did I have to lose?
So I grabbed my cans of primer spray, black spray, final clear coat spray, and my tarp, and I got to work! And by work, I mean all 20 minutes that it took me to do both of these projects combined.
The towel rack looks fantastic and is now hanging on the back of my closet door holding my scarves. When I showed my mom her old-fashioned brass lamp, she couldn’t believe the transformation. Now I just need to find a cute little lamp shade and BAM! Cheap-o new lamp for Erica. 🙂
**** Mom’s waking up. Time to get ready to head out for the evening – Jazz on the Lawn at Beachaven Winery is where we’ll be spending this glorious Saturday night!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
