Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
This Can’t Be Real Life – One Week in New Hampshire
Tonight wrapped up one full month of running around the country with Rachel’s Challenge.
September has passed in the blink of an eye. When the office folks in Littleton told me I wouldn’t head out on the road full-time until September, I remember thinking that September would never get here; Now I can’t believe a month is under my belt. I’m not going to be anywhere close to being ready for this season to end.
I’m loving this.
I’ve spent this week in southern New Hampshire. I spoke at middle schools Tuesday and today (Thursday) and knocked out one high school yesterday. This trip really hasn’t felt like “work” at all though. I’ve tried to capture what I could through some poor-quality cell phone pictures, but we all know that pictures never do a trip justice!
I stayed at this fantastic luxury hotel my first night in Exetor. I passed it twice trying to find it because I couldn’t believe that was where I was staying. I literally got into my room and checked out every nook and cranny because everything was so antique-y and nice! Thanks Jen Hollingshead!
My ride to grab some lunch on Tuesday… no big deal.
Ventured into downtown Portsmouth
I took the rest of the gorgeous afternoon to drive aimlessly with the windows down and music up. I was in complete bliss.
Do I really get paid to do this? This can’t be real life right now.
I literally sent Jamie a text that talked about how I was about to explode with happiness – the whole opportunity and experience of all of this just hit me at once while I was driving along the coast. Couldn’t get enough.
There are more American flags being flown in NH than I’ve ever seen anywhere. Every house. Every business. Every park. It’s awesome. AMERICA!
Spent an hour vegging out on the beach. Love me some east coast beaches. So different from the panhandle, and so different from each other the farther north you go. Surfers, lots of dogs, elderly people walking, babies playing. It was heaven, I tell you.
And of course the reason I’m here is to shake up some students’ lives with Rachel’s story. Love it.
Thank you God for blessing me with this trip.
I’ve seen you everywhere, and I’ve loved the quiet time.
Darrell Scott gave me such an incredible gift when he offered me the opportunity to tell his daughter’s story. This is an experience of a lifetime, to travel to places I normally would NEVER have gone, getting outside of my comfort zone, speaking in front of thousands of people, and seeing lives changed right in front of my very eyes.
This is fantastic.
