Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
piece of mail
So I got the coolest piece of mail today, and I’m still just tickled pink about it. 🙂
My great-uncle Norris attached this to our Christmas card –
It’s a 12-page document of my entire matural family history. Unbelivable. It’s extremely detailed and lists back to my great x 10 grandfather. I’ve always known that I’m Norweigan, but it’s so fascinating to read about who lived where and when everybody started making the trek from Norway to New York. I pieced through it while Jamie was out Christmas shopping, and I was so excited to show him when he got home. He was equally intrigued and suggested we make an actual “tree” of everyone so that we can visually see everything better.
This little treasure in the mail totally sparked our interested in the rest of our family history, so hopefully we’ll work on my paternal family history and then move on to Jamie’s. 🙂
We’re headed to a little Christmas party tonight, so Jamie bought some stuff to mix a great holiday drink once we get over there, but I was bored this afternoon and whipped these little babies together. They make not look like anything special, but that’s homemade cream cheese frosting, baby! Outrageous!
The confectioner’s sugar may have exploded in the process, but all is cleaned up now and my floors are squeaky clean; Good thing because my parents and brother are headed up here tomorrow to do an early Christmas with me and Jamie. Jamie and I are both super excited. They love coming up here and we love having them!!
I’ll leave you with a picture of my whole world right now. This r&r has been perfect. <3
