January in Colorado

Nina said it BEST when she said that it’s a great feeling when the people you work with become your good friends.

I really cannot even call these people co-workers because they are honestly like another family. They know more about my hopes, dreams, and fears than most people do.
Being together in Littleton is perfect. Meeting together in the hotel lobby for breakfast each morning, hopping in whoever’s car to head to the main office, productive work days (if you can even call it work!), then dinner and whatever else the night may hold. I cannot get enough of being with these people. I’m encouraged by each and every one of them.
A group of us went to Colorado this time to train for the Rachel’s Challenge program Chain Reaction.

Rather than deliver presentations, Chain Reaction is basically an all-day event with roughly 100 students and 25 adults that empowers students to better communicate with each other and tear down existing barriers. This program promotes development, leadership, and team buidling. It includes strategic interactions designed to build upon each other and build positive inward change. Going through this event is life changing, and I can say that because I’ve been through it myself. You CAN’T experience this program and NOT want every single person you know to also go through it. I’m so honored and pumped to get on the road WITH ANOTHER PRESENTER this time (whoop whoop!) and lead this program.

Thursday night is definitely worth mentioning. 😉 A few RC people are big “yogis” and invited a group of us to attend a hot yoga class with them Thursday night at Core Power in downtown Denver. About 17 of us decided to go, and it was a HOOT!
Our group was a little wild, but fun was had by all. Of course the best thing to do after sweating your tail off is to go get frozen yogurt, right? Nice and sweaty, a bunch of us grabbed yogurt. This brings us to about 9:30 pm and we weren’t really ready to head back to the hotel yet, so Craig (Rachel’s brother) convinced a little group of us to go SALSA DANCING at La Rumba in downtown Denver. Still in our yoga clothes, we went salsa dancing. GOOD LORD we had a good time! Our two gentlemen Ali and Craig definitely know how to salsa. Colleen, Daryn, Kristi, and Nina were my female companions, and we enjoyed belly-laughing as each girl was wisked off with a sketch man looking for a dance partner. Nobody seemed to notice our pre-salsa workout odor. 😉 Didn’t shower off and head to bed til almost 1 a.m. Best night I’ve had in a while!
Flew home last night, knocking out a to-do list of stuff today (including getting back to p90x – whoop!), and am heading to Dallas tomorrow for a very quick chain reaction shadow trip.
Thank you LORD for putting this job and these people in my life.

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
