Jesus, Grandparents, and Snow

Today is BEAUTIFUL!

I’m laying on the couch in sweats watching the snow fall on top of the four inches there already is, and I am just happy. Hadley’s playing with her grandparents and Jamie and I are enjoying just veggin’! I already got in my workout this morning (killer CU24 Melt Climb!), so the rest of the day should hold nothing but guilt-free relaxing! I love today.

 Two inches and falling…
6:30 a.m. playtime with Daddy
We had such a fun weekend! Both Jamie’s and my parents drove up Saturday afternoon, and we enjoyed a quiet night of spending time together. I made a few appetizers for everybody to snack on before we ordered some pizzas. A casual night in was just what the doctor ordered for everybody!
Girl time selfie in the bathroom getting ready for Grandma, Grandpa, Miya, and Papaw!
On Sunday we headed to church bright and early for Hadley’s baby dedication. We were so honored to have our families and four of our good friends join us. We were very proud and excited to commit before our families, friends, church family, and most importantly before God to raise Hadley in a Christian home while encouraging her own personal relationship with the Lord. Jamie did a great job speaking in front of the congregation! I was so proud of him.
Side note – Doesn’t my dad have the prettiest eyes?! Seriously.

Another special part of the day was Hadley’s outfit! Even though she didn’t get baptized, she wore the same gown that my mom wore 51 years ago and that I wore 26 years ago. My mom worked really hard to get it clean, and she looked beautiful! She’s not happy in most of the pictures because she got hungry (and when she wants to eat she wants to eat!), but we still love that we got in some pics.
After the service, we came back to our house to enjoy more appetizers while Jamie grilled some burgers. Mom and Dad had to leave mid-afternoon to head back to Alabama for work today, but the DeSpains are here in Tennessee for the week! We already took advantage of their babysitting services so that we could go to the Wilson’s Oscars party last night. 🙂
I just remembered that The Bachelor’s on tonight. Ah, today really does rock.
Have a great week, friends.

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
