Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
Happy May!
Happy Thursday and Happy May Day!
I’m sure a lot of people are sick of this meme, but this former *NSync lover thinks it’s a riot. 😉
Though I get ragged on a lot from people for my “don’t know how to sit still” personality, a lot of people don’t know that as much as I love having a full calendar, I also equally love being lazy and having zero commitments. I woke up happy this morning because this month is going to be a very healthy combination of both. These next three weeks are going to be really quiet, but Memorial Day weekend kicks off a summer of our own traveling as well as welcoming visitors! 27 days until my mom gets here, and time. is crawling! Hurry up, Mom!
On Sunday I blogged about looking forward to a quiet week, but it’s turned out to be anything but! On Tuesday night Hadley spiked her first major fever (101.7) that we are currently still trying to break. Thankfully this morning she’s down to 99.7 and her disposition is just as happy as could be. She has a pretty good virus that is taking its toll on her belly, but some TLC and meds are helping.
Tuesday night/Wednesday morning was a long night for us. Poor baby was absolutely miserable and awake every 30-45 minutes. Needless to say this mama was flat exhausted come 7 a.m. when she was up “for good”. We went to the doctor at 8, got home at 10:15, and we both passed out around noon! I’m not sure who needed that sleep more. 😉 My day was made when my amazing husband walked in the door at 3 o’clock with bags full of groceries (aaaaand margaritas!) and ready to take over dinner duty. I already had chicken in the crockpot (even though I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it), but I was happy to put it in rubbermaids and let Jamie do some cookin’!
He grilled chicken, peppers, and onions, pan-heated some black refried beans, had whole wheat tortilla chips with fresh salsa from the farmers market, cheese, sour cream, tortillas, lime, and margaritas! I took one look at everything he was making and decided to go on a quick 30 minute run so that I could really enjoy his cookin’ (somewhat) guilt-free! Thanks again, Jamie B. You filled my love tank. 😉
The rest of the day consists of more TLC for my girl and a few repairmen coming out – one for a crack in my windshield and another for a toilet issue. Joy!
Thanks for reading!
