Good morning and Happy Teacher Appreciation Day to my favorite teachers from Madison and Tuscaloosa (several who I’m facebook friends with and may read this blog!) and of course to my fellow teacher loves in Alabama, at St. Johns, and at West Creek.
I was hoping to have day two of the cleanse up last night, but we are down to one good working laptop (Jamie’s), and he was swamped in homework. Priorities.
Yesterday was a fun but exhausting day for this little fam! My friend Nicole and her family have passes to the Tucson zoo, so she invited Hadley and me to venture up there with her and her daughter. Her friend Lisa also joined us, which was great because she was super fun to hang out with.
Before we left, I drank a watermelon spark with catalyst, drank the fiber drink (mixed with Trop50 Pineapple Mango – actually tasty for those who have done the cleanse and know about that fiber drink!), and mixed up a vanilla shake (not pictured) to sip on during the trip up to Tucson.
After a couple hours at the zoo, we headed over to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch and dug into their salad bar! We were hungry! I was glad Nicole suggested that place because it was really easy to stay “on plan”. I don’t have a picture of my plate obviously, but I loaded it up with veggies, nuts, chopped eggs, and greek vinigariette dressing. Yum!
We got back to Sierra Vista around 3:30 and Jamie got home shortly after. I didn’t realize how hungry I was, so I dug into some pistachios before I ran a few errands.
I had some ground turkey dethawing before I left, and I came home around 5:45 to burger patties prepped and ready to throw on the grill. He knows by now that cooking is a definitely way to get wife points with me, especially since he is really good at it! He prepped the ground turkey with chopped onions, a little bit of Dale’s seasoning, and a little bit of breadcrumbs to keep them together. This carb lovers loves that I can still eat bread on the cleanse as long as it’s whole grain or whole wheat (whole grain preferably).
For dessert, I went with another bowl of raspberries. I swear I would eat them every night if they weren’t so darn expensive!
Feeling good today as I head into day three!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
