Happy Friday friends!
First, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of those who left feedback about yesterday’s post via email, private messages, comments, and texts. I truly wish there was more dialogue about breastfeeding struggles and more encouragement for new moms instead of controversy. I so loved hearing from you!
A few things on my mind today –
A few years ago, I read Heaven is For Real in one sitting. Afterwards, I fled to this site to write about how captivated I was by the story. Last night, I sat down with my parents and Jamie to watch the movie. I was extremely disappointed by how slow the first third of the movie is, but the last hour is fascinating just like the book. Unlike three years ago, I’m scratching my head with what I make of the whole story. I’ve read some strong Facebook statuses from people who are very angry with the message this book/movie is giving because the bible tells us that no one will get a glimpse of Heaven until we’re there for eternity. In all honesty, I want to do some deep bible studying on this topic and figure out exactly what the bible says regarding glimpses of Heaven. I have a fire under me now to do some close reading about all this topic entails. I’d love to hear what you think!
I can’t get enough. I can’t. I’m sorry Mom for talking about it nonstop the last two weeks. Working for Rachel’s Challenge a few years ago taught me that everybody has a story and that judging someone on the surface level is a sure-fire way to get somebody completely wrong. This man’s story rocked me for some reason. I’ve visited Times Square over a dozen times, but I’ve never given the people cleaning up the area even a fraction of a thought. You can read his story here.
My friend Courtney posted this on Facebook a few days, and I can’t stop thinking about it. Rarely have so few words ever made so much sense to me. This quote goes hand-in-hand with Humans of New York. Talk about seeing the people around you with a completely different set of lenses. Thank you for sharing, Court!
Gasp! I don’t really know how to do the twitter thing, but I’m excited to connect with other bloggers and my readers who use this social media avenue more frequently than others. If you do the twitter thing, hop over there and be one of my first followers!
Finally, I want to thank Elizabeth for my new blog design! You’re awesome, girl!
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
