We’re all big pizza lovers, so as part of our food prep my brother and I made a bunch of homemade pizza dough. After giving it a few hours to rise, I split up the dough and set up a little pizza-making station.
Everybody had the chance to customize their own pizza and eat before quickly getting ready and catching the 6pm Christmas Eve candlelight service and Jamie’s and my new church here in Manhattan.
Jennifer got home from work shortly after we got home from church, so after Hadley went to bed we all slipped into pjs and exchanged gifts like we usually do on Christmas Eve. The best part of Christmas Eve was playing our version of Chubby Bunny. We were laughing so hard I’m sure the neighbors could hear us! If you didn’t catch my post the other day, you can read more about the game here.
On Christmas morning, I popped in my mom’s breakfast casserole and helped Hadley open her presents from Santa. The rest of the day was spent relaxing and playing with our new gadgets. Jamie and I cooked a big meal and the guys caught a movie later that afternoon. We ended the night playing a couple games around the kitchen table and watching Elf. Hadley made my day perfect when she sat on my lap and watched about 25 minutes worth of the movie. It was precious! She loved it just like her momma does.
Having Hadley around made Christmas so much more sweet and memorable. Watching her get so excited and interested in all of her new toys and books is so much fun.
Our Christmas Eve and Day were simple and just the way we like it! Having everyone under our roof for five days was really special.
Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
