Our Anniversary Double Date in Denver + my eShakti.com Dress Review

Last Friday we three DeSpains loaded up the Jeep once again and headed seven hours west to one of my absolute most favorite states – Colorado.

Our very first friends from Fort Campbell, TN moved to Colorado Springs a few months ago, and since we share a wedding anniversary (same year and all!), we thought it would be fun to celebrate together.
We picked Saturday night as our night to get away from the kids and celebrate. Jeremy and Jamie planned a full night of places to go, so we were out the door at 3 p.m. as soon as the babysitter arrived.
After a quick drive north to downtown Denver, we started our night on the 27th floor of the Hyatt Hotel at the Peaks Lounge. When we got there it was already packed with people doing the same thing we were there to do – sip on drinks while admiring the sunset.
We found a table with an okay view and enjoyed a quick half hour of drinks. By this point I was already on cloud nine; I think we all were. It felt so good to get all fancied up and enjoy a well-planned night away with great friends.
We had 5:45 dinner reservations six blocks away, so at 5:30 we took our last sips and rushed out the door. Right as we exited the hotel and glanced at our phones to figure out which way to walk, a couple of “bike carriages” pulled up and asked us if we wanted a ride. Without giving it much thought, we said a quick yes and hopped on! It was so spontaneous, and we laughed the entire way to dinner!
The guys picked The Capital Grille for dinner, and we were taken back to our table as soon as we walked through the door. Our table was covered in little hearts and had two anniversary cards waiting for us. We were immediately very impressed! Our waiter (Lane – ask for him!) started us off with a complimentary bottle of wine before giving us a drink menu (that was on an iPad!).
Our dinner was insanely good, and we finished up with two complimentary desserts. All four of us were seriously blown away by their hospitality!
Our last stop for the night was a few blocks away at a highly-reviewed place called Crave. The original plan included getting dessert there, but since dessert was on the house at The Capital Grille we just ordered a few things at Crave and relaxed for a bit before making the drive back to the Springs.
The entire evening from start to finish was perfect; Our husbands really did an impeccable job planning out the night. Celebrating our fourth anniversary with friends who were also celebrating was special; It’s a fact that there will be more anniversary dates/trips together in the future. How many people can say that they celebrate such a special day with some of their best friends?
A little bit about my LBD from eShakti.com–
I ordered my dress a few weeks ago from a website called eShakti.com, a female clothing website that lets each customer completely customize every single piece she orders.

Once I found the dress I wanted to wear, the website asked for all of my measurements so that they could guarantee that it would fit me like a dream (achieved!). The last step of the ordering process was one I’d never seen before, but loved– I was able to choose exactly where I wanted the dress to hit on my legs and pick if I wanted to keep the same neckline as featured or change it to one of their other many options.

I knew the idea behind the website was that each piece is made for each individual customer, but I was really blown away by the amount of options I was given! Because I loved the neckline featured in the original picture of my dress, I decided to keep it.

I’m normally not a huge fan of ordering dresses online, but eShakti’s method of buying clothing online made the process way too simple and fun. I’ll definitely be shopping from them in the future!
Now for the best part!
If you want to play around on their site for a skirt, top, tunic, or dress and you find something you love (I can almost guarantee you will), eShakti.com is offering all of my wonderful readers a 10% off coupon. Hooray!

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
