A Day in the Life of Hadley: 15 Months Big

A few days ago I was looking for a picture of Hadley from last summer and remembered that I uploaded the specific picture to her first “Day in the Life” post from when she was eight months old. I clicked over to that post and spent the next 10 minutes looking through the pictures and smiling while watching the videos with Jamie wondering where in the world that little baby went. She was so tiny and so precious.
I decided that night that it was time for another “Day in the Life” post, and I picked yesterday because I knew it would be a very normal day that’s representative of what our lives really are like on a day to day basis.
Note: My Canon is on the fritz, so I apologize for the overload of low-quality iPhone pics!
I heard Hadley crying and ready to get up at 6:15 a.m., which is about 30-45 minutes earlier than she usually wakes up. I quickly hopped out of bed, made her an eight oz. whole-milk bottle, and scooped her up from her crib. I could tell she was still tired, so I put her in bed with me while she drank her bottle. I kept the lights out so that she could get a little more sleep (me too).
At 7:45 she woke up a happy girl. I changed her diaper and we went out to the living room.
She was hungry for breakfast almost immediately, so I made both of us some scrambled eggs and green apple slices.
She watched a little Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while eating breakfast.
When breakfast was over, we cleaned up and got dressed to head to the gym!
Out the door we go!
I dropped her off at the childcare area, I worked out for a little over an hour, and then I picked her back up to head home. She was playing well and definitely wasn’t ready to go home. She was so excited to show me the “ba ba” she’d found while playing!
Heading home!
We came home to a mess. I’d left the full garbage bag beside the garbage (intending to bring it to the can outside before I left), and Teddy tore into it. Awesome!
She had fun watching me vacuum like she always does!
She had a little bit of independent quiet playtime with her toys and books before getting a Chobani yogurt pouch for her morning snack.

Time for a diaper change!
She played in her room for a few minutes while I tried to get some of her clean clothes put away. Keyword: tried.

We watched about 20 more minutes of TV before she got her second bottle. She was down for her nap by 11:30 and slept for 2.5 hours straight. Win!
Around 2 she was up and ready for the afternoon!
We shared a couple of clementines before plopping her in her highchair for a late lunch: a turkey and cheese sandwich, another clementine, some Gerber crunches, and water.

At 2:45 we were out the door again to meet Meg & Jack at the Manhattan Discovery Center to let the littles explore and run around.
We headed home around 4:30 to relax and get dinner started.
She wanted to hang with me, so I plopped her on the counter (obviously not leaving her for a second!) and let her make a mess while I made some broccoli and cheddar soup. Jamie would be home soon!
Jamie got home a little before 6, and she was excited to see him like usual!

She got in a few more minutes of TV while I served dinner.
She wasn’t really into me feeding her soup, so I put a little bit on some bread and let her have it that way. She loved it!

She got one Oreo for dessert. 🙂
She and her daddy enjoyed some nightly tickle time while I cleaned up (I could listen to them roll around laughing all day).
She wasn’t too happy when I told her in was time for bath time (even though she loves it).
She got to FaceTime with both sets of grandparents!
We enjoyed some snuggles on the couch before Jamie took her to brush her teeth, say prayers, and go to bed around 7:15.

Today was a good day. Our days at home aren’t too fancy, but I love getting to spend so much time with my girl!

Erica

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
