Recycled Rides: Nominate a TX Veteran Now for a New Car!

Good morning and Happy Friday! We are oh so happy that our little family unit is back together and are looking forward to enjoying a low-key weekend.

Last night we celebrated being back together and the sale of our Tennessee house with a casual dinner in – cheap steak, red mashed potatoes, bagged salad (so fancy), and a bottle of wine I scooped up from The Biltmore. After dinner Hadley gave Jamie his welcome home gift – her very first number two in the tub. I died. It was so funny! Welcome home, Dad! 🙂

On a more serious note, today I’m honored to share with you about Caliber Collision and their initiative called Recycled Rides. They recently got in touch with me hoping that I can spread the word about what they’re doing for veterans, so after doing my own research I quickly hopped on board! I love what they’re doing to help veterans and military families, so I invited them to tell you all about their program in their own words.

Recycled Rides

“Work.  Dentist appointment.  Carpool.  Soccer practice.  PTA meeting.  Grocery store.  It is astonishing to think of how often we use our vehicles on a daily basis.  Without a suitable vehicle, completing your daily activities would be quite a challenge.  Caliber Collision understands this burden, and we are working to eliminate this stress from veterans and military families.  We have a heart for helping our military heroes because of the sacrifice they make for our country.  Our team is honored to assist in any way possible, and one way we do so is through Recycled Rides.
President Abraham Lincoln said, “To ease another’s heartache is to forget your own,” and easing the stress put on military families is what Recycled Rides was created for.  Recycled Rides is a program created by Caliber that allows us to refurbish vehicles to give to deserving military families.  Our team, which includes many military veterans, makes the effort to restore these vehicles to pristine driving condition so our military heroes can have a little less stress in their lives.  It truly is a labor of love for our team, and when we gift the vehicles to the military families, there is never a dry eye in the room between the recipient and our Caliber team.
Currently, Recycled Rides is available to veterans and military families in the Austin, TX, and Dallas, TX, areas.  In 2014, we were able to donate 20 vehicles, and we have 25 vehicles planned for 2015.  These vehicles are given at no charge to our military heroes, and we are truly thankful for the opportunity to give back to those in need through Recycled Rides.  You can nominate yourself or a deserving family through this nomination form.

For our Caliber team, Recycled Rides is the pride of our organization, and we are humbled and honored to serve families in this small capacity.  Our motto is to restore you to the rhythm of your life®, and we hope that these vehicles are able to help our military heroes restore the rhythm of their lives.  The heart of our Caliber team is focused on assisting our military heroes.  As a corporation, we also participate in Carry the Load and Hire our Heroes, and many of our local centers also participate in military organizations in their area.”

If you know any veterans in the Dallas or Austin area who you believe could benefit from a new vehicle, please use this form and nominate them by the May 1st deadline!

Good luck Caliber Collision! You’re doing a wonderful thing.

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
