Stitch Fix #5 – April 2015

Another month, another Stitch Fix box! As far as first glances go, this stack of clothes was my favorite. I genuinely was hoping that everything was going to fit perfectly because I really liked each item I pulled out of the box. Here we go!

I love everything about this dress – the way it fits, the thicker, higher quality, the fun pattern, the sewn in drawstring, and most importantly the length!

It’s a keeper! Whoop! We’re headed to the beach in a few weeks, so this one is definitely getting packed up and coming with.

Moving on to the next two pieces. I love the color and fit of this top and think that it would be perfect for summer.  It’s sheer, so I put a white camisole (that came in the box) underneath. My only qualm with it is the $54 price tag simply because the quality feels a little cheap and I’m not confident how well it would hold up after a few washes.

Let’s talk about these shorts. As soon as I pulled them out of the box, I immediately put them on praying that they’d fit like a glove just like my Stitch Fix pants all do. Well, they don’t, and what you don’t see is my other side where the shorts aren’t zipped up all the way. The quality of these shorts is amazing, but I can’t hold onto them hoping that I’ll lose five pounds. Bummer.

The main reason I like this next shirt is because it’s yellow, and I don’t own a lot of yellow. I also like how I could wear it throughout both spring and summer. I’ll be sending this one back though because after assessing my closet I’ve realized that I own more 3/4 length tops than any other type of clothing.

Here’s a quick peak at the back though. I really liked the buttons!

Without a doubt this is the highest quality item I’ve ever received from Stitch Fix. It’s also the most expensive item I’ve received. Ain’t it funny how that happens?

I recently increased my price limits in my online style profile because I read on another blog that you give your stylist a lot more wiggle room to pick out pieces that would better fit you. I figure that if the price is too high for what I’m getting, then I just won’t buy it (just like I wouldn’t buy it if I were walking around the mall shopping).

I love love love the quality, length, and neckline. My stylist did great picking out this piece because it really is just beautiful! This dress would be perfect for a wedding regardless of the time of year! Unfortunately I don’t have a single event coming up that I can plan on wearing this too.

I also don’t like that the waist is couple inches too big; I’d always have to wear the belt with this dress to make it fit better.

What is Stitch Fix?

Stitch Fix is a stop-anytime apparel subscription service that sends customers five pieces of clothing and accessories each month (or more or less depending on one’s preferences) based on price points that one designates in her profile. Stitch Fix stylists hand-pick what to send each customer based on one’s online profile created upon sign up. Customers are charged a $20 styling fee upfront per shipment, but the styling fee is later applied to any item(s) the customers chooses to keep.  If one chooses to send back all five items, Stitch Fix keeps the $20 fee. A customer’s best bet is to keep at least one item since $20 has already been paid. Stitch Fix also includes a prepaid bad to send all unwanted items back. If a customer chooses to keep all five items, she gets a 25% discount off of the entire box. So awesome! I love this concept of shopping!

Additional note: As of a couple weeks ago, Stitch Fix now offers petite sizes and maternity styles!

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
