A Cool Weather Staple: Freshly Picked Moccs (+ a Giveaway)

Disclaimer: Thank you Freshly Picked for sponsoring this post. While we did receive product in exchange for a blog post, I genuinely love this product and company and am thrilled to partner with them! Thank you for your support surrounding sponsored posts!

Our weather this past weekend was just what the doctor ordered – lots of sunshine and welcomed cooler temperatures. With a touch of fall in the air I was thrilled to finally break out round two of one of my absolute top baby/toddler obsessions – Freshly Picked moccasins!
{platinum moccasins}

 We got Hadley her first pair of Freshly Picked moccs last year, and we quickly found out why everyone raves about them! Last fall Hadley was a brand new wobbly walker, so these sweet shoes were perfect for slipping on and off her feet quickly as well as providing her the support she needed while her feet strengthened.
She wore them absolutely everywhere. Her first pair was a neutral light brown color, so they coordinated with everything and were so easy to clean (one swipe of a baby wipe does the trick).

Even though her foot was growing fast, she was able to stay in these shoes for months. When she was wearing a size 3.5 shoe (according to Stride Rite), we got her a size 4 in the moccs, so they were a little big at first. She was still able to wear them though right away because the comfortable elastic around the ankle kept them on her feet. She wore them until she was nearly a size six in other shoes! I can’t explain the magical size situation, but she got more use out of these shoes than any other shoes to date simply because they fit her feet for longer.

These moccs are soft soled, so because Hadley is literally running these days instead of still trying to figure out the whole walking thing, we’ll be primarily using these shoes indoors this fall and winter. They grip so well to every surface, so I’ve never had to worry about her slipping in these shoes. Outings to places such as the local discovery center, indoor play dates, and the church nursery are all perfect examples of when we’ll be slipping these shoes on her feet and heading out the door.

I will admit that I was first drawn to these shoes simply because of how cute they are, but I recently learned that soft soled shoes are actually the next best shoe option for babies and toddlers (the best option being barefoot). According to Livestrong.com, soft soled shoes are a wonderful option because they provide comfort and protection for foot development and walking support. It’s all about how lightweight they are and the amount of flexibility and protection they offer while little ones grow compared to regular baby and toddler tennis shoes.
Here’s the absolute icing on the cake to these shoes. They leave an imprint on the bottom of little ones’ feet and toes, which make me want to hang on to these forever and ever. I love these little baby toes.

In a nutshell, we are crazy crazy crazy over Freshly Picked!
Are you sold yet?! Ready to get your own pair for your kiddo, a friend’s kiddo, your grandchild, or a niece or nephew? Freshly Picked is offering to give away one pair to a Whimsical September reader because they’re just a really, really awesome company. Entering is simple; head on over to Instagram to enter!
Good luck! A winner will be announced here and on Instagram next Tuesday.

Hi! I’m Erica, and I absolutely adore sharing my life on this website with you! I come here almost daily to blab about all of the things related to being a regular wife and mother in today’s ever-evolving society. I share about our new home, what’s on our kitchen table, what we’re hanging in our closets, where we’re traveling to next, my crazy 5 a.m. work outs, how I make time for girlfriends, our faith, and much more. We always have a lot of balls in the air and somewhat thrive on the chaos. I believe in the power of story-telling as a form of inspiration and entertainment, so I’m here to do both! I was born and raised in north Alabama and recently re-planted roots here again after my husband transitioned out of the Army (he is now in the Reserve and it’s going so well!) I’m a super proud mom to three little girls (ages 7, 4, and 1) who seem to be the stars of the show around here (for good reason – they’re pretty great!) I’m so glad you found me and are here reading! I hope we can get to know each other here on the blog as well as Facebook and/or Instagram. xoxo
